Funny thing is that probably has happened cause it's theorized that humans lived alongside dinosaurs. Edit: I guess a few people are wondering what I smoke. I drink though. Diet Pepsi & Water. No smoking/alcohol for me!
In fairness, Jurassic Park's dinosaurs were more along the lines of chimeras that shouldn't have been brought back to begin with thanks to all the ethical problems associated with doing so
Swimmers, intelligent nightly hunters, planners, ferocious in battle, good friends, tender mates, caring fathers... Yeah, Prehistoric Planet does justice to T Rex's reputation as the King of Dinosaurs, better than any other media I have seen so far
Prehistoric Planet has the best depiction of the T-Rex in any dinosaur media. From being shown to be able to swim, to showing an…interesting mating display. And deciding to wait till nightfall to avoid the risk of getting injured by plant-eaters that have defensive body parts. And can we talk about the baby T-Rex? They're so tiny! And accurately adorable!
T-Rex Mom after they come home from vacation "Where's Jimmy?" T-Rex Dad "Yeah about that. I'm heading out to hunt for dinner. You kids be good for your mom".
There are many and I mean many pieces Science is missing about Dinosaurs. T-Rex swimming shouldn't have taken this long honestly, like of course they can swim. Just because it have little arms, doesn't mean a thing. We know so little about this animal despite discovering a lot of it from its fossils.
... But, if that animal had the intelligence etc to care for it's young like this episode theorizes, would it swim such a stretch of ocean of which it is aware that the most dangerous sea predator hunts in those waters ? I think not. This sort of intensive Parental care is a huge investment. You would not want to waste your young - or risk an injury yourself, disabling your own hunt, in such dangerous waters.
That has to be one of the most beautiful depictions ever of T-rex. May not be the awesome Hollywood style like in Jurassic Park/World, but it gave us a great look at what the dinosaur would've looked like based on modern science. The roar was very subtle too, not as loud and aggressive like Jurassic Park.
@@IvanRingle me too. Far more terrifying too. I like the fact that they could silently prey like a 30 ton tiger. Far scarier to imagine them with actual animal instincts
*Fun Fact:* Narrator, Sir David Attenborough, is brother of late Richard Samuel Attenborough, Baron Attenborough († 2014), known for his role of John Hammond in Steven Spielberg's *_Jurassic Park_* (1993) and the film's sequel, *_The Lost World: Jurassic Park_* (1997).
I personally like how robust the Prehistoric Planet T-Rex is and I really wish that a toy company like Lanard toys could get the rights to Prehistoric Planet
@@deabogg MOST if not all up to date scientific research support this model. But the problem is, its not "as cool" as the Jurassic Park model. And since mainstream media is apparently the culture teacher nowadays, movies and media still use the outdated model. And the general public, still think that's the "real" model.
There has been a new discovery that T.rex is a powerful swimmer, that means its water capacity was highly effective than most land animals so T.rex can cross big lakes and reaching near islands kicking and shaking tail in water.
Biggest Predator The Most Heaviest The Stronger Bite Force It had one of the best Visions of the Entire Animal Kingdom Good swinmers One of the most intelligent creatures to ever exist
@@TheAnimalKingdom-tq3sz Still tho T rex got more depth in his character thanks to Megatron And hank gives us a realistic show of how majestic the t rex can be
Prehistoric planet is the real deal T. rex, I’d say my favorite T. Rex is from this show, super accurate and just the design is beautiful, spot on and honestly my hopes are up that this might be the best dinosaur show to date, it would be cool to see the prehistoric planet Rex as an action figure.
I *love* the cinematography here. Like, the way the camera was angle or how the T-Rex was shot really gives off a sort of demanding presence. Like the scene where the T-Rex was observing the dead giant turtle. Or when the two rexes were hunting the Edmontosaurs. Even the wide shots or closeup shots. It’s just so cool and how majestic it all looks.
Prehistoric Planet - Season 1: 00:00 Season 1 Episode 1: Coasts 05:35 Season 1 Episode 3: Freshwater Prehistoric Planet - Season 2: 10:29 Season 2: Episode 3: Swamps 14:05 Season 2: Episode 5: North America
5:59 (remake of comment I said in previous version) I still love that sound! I'm growing tired of T. rex depicted making roars since not only is it an overdone trope, but it is scientifically inaccurate. Instead here it makes a hissing bellow instead of a roar which makes sense considering that crocodilians make these noises, and both T. rex and crocodiles are archosaurs. overall it's a very good part of an already S tier T. rex design
I like their depiction of T-rex. One thing that always bothers me about Jurassic Park dinosaurs is how they made them drink water like a dog instead of like a bird. It doesn't seem feasible that T-rex would stick out it's tongue to taste or drink.
This is without a doubt the best depiction of my favorite dinosaur. Absolutely gorgeous. Out of all depictions this is my favorite. The Jurassic Park/World Rex as much as I love it, I prefer this take. Did take some getting used to the covered teeth, but looking closer and getting a better understanding, it makes sense. Now I know anything we say about dinosaur behavior is mostly speculation but I really love the idea of T-Rex when hunting is more of an ambush hunter rather than full on pursuing predator. Because obviously T-Rex wasn't a super fast animal but it definitely did have speed for short durations. Also I believe that when mating they were monogamous considering the fact that many theropods have that connection to present day birds. In fact many species of birds of prey are monogamous. It would beneficial if T-Rex to have mated for life for both a stronger chance for successful and raising their young.
@@supertrike5893 But if you notice, it makes sense! since the two that were hunting the Edmontosaurus had the same coloring! But in the first season, that male, and that female, were different colors! moreover, not always a species lives together just to mate! sometimes, it may be that brothers come together to help each other!
Yay, finally, a video about the dinosaurs that's actually accurate and doesn't portray them as vicious blood thirsty monsters but as like real animals like how they must of have been many millions of years ago way beyond our time 65 million years ago.
"Man, what kind of person would upload MORE video of T-rex screen time in Prehistoric Planet at 6 in the evening?" M. REX Screen Time: "HO BOY 6 P.M.!"
Tyrannosaurus could move through the forest in near silence thanks to cushioned pads on their feet. … The one in Jurassic Park that loudly announced its arrival with thundering footsteps was bored or drunk. That’s my headcanon. 😂
My head canon is that she never had a reason to sneak around and ambush prey. Every prey animal she's ever eaten was just handed to her chained on a platform. This is proven further when Rexy hunts the Gallimimus, she bursts out of the trees without a single sound hinting at her approach, no one knew she was even there before she ambushed the Gallimimus.
@@jacobcox4565 Yeah… Ellie was quite right in saying these animals have no idea what century they’re living in, and they’ll react violently if necessary.
@@SuperHongTay T Rex is American, but an Asian American, because before it became T Rex, it was still a small little Guanglong that lived somewhere in China, and a path lead some Guanglong to travel to America for a few million years, and then yeah, well it did compete with a few allosauroids, as a small guanglong, and now Tyrannosaurs invading the territory of the Allosauroids causes most dinosaurs from the Carnosauria to go extinct. T Rex was an American born Asian dinosaur. Coelurosauria dinosaur groups are now the dominant of predatory dinosaurs, even survive till today as the modern day birds we see all the time
@@notmyrealchannel559With that logic. Most Americans are European Americans, African Americans, or Latino americans. With only a small minority being true native Americans.
@@tylerleach8796 Media can really influence people. I have seen a ton of people who still think Dilophosaurus had a frill and spat venom because they only know about Dilophosaurus from Jurassic Park.
@@tylerleach8796 Not even that. Some people just parrot information they learned from "somewhere" and take it as fact because they never heard otherwise yet. You are right about it not being the fault of the media, but that doesn't mean they shouldn't try. Media that doesn't try is awful, that's how you get movies like Blue Beetle and Jurassic World: Dominion. I would actually really like to see a major Hollywood movie that portrays dinosaurs accurately.
The animation in this series is top notch. 👌All the movements feel real, nothing moves too fast so you really get a sense of the immense weight of the animals, a lot of movies make that mistake by having them move too quickly. (coughs) Jurassic World series...
@@jacobcox4565 my bad but still the point stands. It looks amazing and I like that it’s not over taking all of the scales on its body. I see a lot of videos showing off Trex looking less like the classical or realistic version and more of either all scales and vicious monster or big fluffy chicken
@@jacobcox4565big animals are often Furless/Featherless Look at modern day elephants they are Furless they just got small little hairs because of their size
Prehistoric Planet is amazing for giving us more realistic depictions of dinosaurs prehistoric reptiles, but I still have nitpicks with some of the animation. I wish the animators paid closer attention to the behavior of birds and reptiles especially with regards to eye movement and reactive gestures to their environment. Some of the animations still feel a little bit glamorized, like those anthropomorphic animals you'd see in a Disney movie. Not a knock against the animators since they've already done great work here, but I hope they keep at it so we'll get even more immersive and convincing depictions of these animals in the future.
But they grow up so fast! 😬 Friend of mine got a baby mosasaur for their tank a while back… they also haven’t been in touch. Eh, probably just a coincidence 😅
@@kotarojujo2737 The animals didn't emote like they should, though. For example, when Simba sensed the wildebeests coming, he didn't even fold his ears back, which is what happens when a cat feels scared!
Even the best CGI back in the days of Walking With Dinosaurs looked… not convincing… still good for the time, I loved it, but I never thought it looked real. … This looks scary real. 😳
Walking with Dinosaurs came out in the late 90s, so the CGI is phenomenal for its time. The CGI here is amazing and almost fully realistic, though it's still missing something where it's not quite fooling the eye. Almost there, but not quite. Still, CGI animals are the hardest visual effects to get right, so I'm definitely not going to fault them.
The graphics for this considering it's just a TV show, are amazing. Jurassic Park is my favorite film of all time and so many people have been saying for years if they ever remake it they want to see it as a more true to the novel version but I disagree. What I would love to see is a miniseries. The first book can be like 6 hour long episodes and the second book can be another 6. It will give much more time to flesh out the characters and with the popularity of shows streaming these days and not having to worry about censorship for tv, they could really do something amazing. The biggest issue would be the cost of CGI and practical effects. I don't see it happening anytime in the near future but another 10 or 15 years, and I could definitely see it being a possibility. CGI is getting better and better and less expensive the more we improve. I am fully confident that someday we will see a more novel based version of Jurassic Park with a lot more horror and Gore and I really hope that the miniseries is the way they go with it. Giving each novel 6-8 hours is the way to do it.
Same group who did the Jungle Book and Lion King remakes. So take that in that this is all done on the same Unity engine that so many games were made off of.
You don’t need to make the Rex a bloodthirsty monster to make it cool. If anything, seeing this thing charging towards me would be just as terrifying as Jurassic Park’s Rex.
I sailed it before on the original version last year, I'll say it again on the Extended Edition version. 0:00-0:08 I see it, but I don’t believe it. A T.Rex AKA Tyrannosaurus Rex is swimming. It’s like the deleted scene slash storyboard sequence “River Raft” that was originally planned for the Film Jurassic Park. 3:51 Listen to the bone crushing sound from the powerful jaws of T.Rex. 8:03 That sound that the Female made sounds like one of her kind from the Jurassic Park Films. 8:07 As for the sound in the background from the Male, it sounds a little like the sound Giganto made in Gigantosaurus. Not to mention the sound in “The Nightmare Before Christmas: Oogie’s Revenge” with the 3 gates that were mysteriously locked in dark entities of some sort just before Jack Skelington said this. “What happened while I was gone?” 10:32 There’s 2 more of them. 12:13 & They’re hunting for some Edmontosaurus. 13:05 The Rex is chasing down its Duckbilled Prey which running on its powerful hind limbs. Exactly like one of it’s kind did in Walking With Dinosaurs, When Dinosaurs Roamed America, Dino Autopsy & Waking The T.Rex: The Story of SUE. 13:20 Ohh! What a bite strike by the neck. 13:32 Especially at the throat. 13:46 They prepare to feed on the Edmontosaurus. 14:18 There’s another Rex. 14:31-14:37 This one is eating an Alamosaurus that just died of old age. 15:08, 15:42, 15:55 & 16:14 There’s that Jurassic Park T.Rex Roar Again.
I read a textbook on therapod dinosaurs at my local library and it sgowed that therapod dinosaurs were a lot more flexible than we thought as well as depicting therapods as large as tyrannosaurus being able to swim so this makes a lot of sense to me.
Try to set the playback speed to 2x. Everything becomes amazingly more realistic to watch. Even though these creatures were huge, the dynamics seem to be off at regular speed.
