Up until recently, I had not played the piano for nearly 40 years. Due to my son's budding interest in music, I decided to make a concerted effort to play again - if nothing else, to show him that despite the challenges I face as an adult, I too can improve. Interestingly, of all pieces, the one thing I remember is the very first piece I played. For the longest time, I did not know the name of the piece - only that it was by Bach. It took some 40 years for me to learn that it is Bach's Prelude No 1 in C Major.
