This is pretty normal in Kerala, just regular life in Kerala for college students. Nothing extraordinary. Students with good grades compete for placement near their home. Those with less marks don't get any placements in Kerala so they look out for admissions in Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and Andra because there are many more colleges than in Kerala.
