Glad you did a comparison. It’ll help others who are trying to figure out back ups or other options. 😊 I like that it comes in a huge cone but yes definitely looks more like a 5 to me. Also, I think the light green would definitely look better, looks more springy! Love all the crochet thread yarn. I’m not a huge fan of chenille but I love how soft it is. The colors of thread are beautiful! Seeing your samples worked up is why I prefer to not buy online.
I love chenille yarn. I have been getting from Dollar Tree for over a year and it is incredible. So glad that it is coming in larger quantities. After playing with the chenille for a few different projects I discovered that after being washed the chenille is very close to the Dolphin yarn in feel and appearance. You should try it and see how the comparison is. I have made large quantities of sensoryvtoys / fidget balls with the chenille and after washing it is sturdy and feels/looks great!
I saw they have Just Chenille at some Dollar Trees, unfortunately my Dollar Trees don't carry any yarn so I don't get to check it out. 😫 The cones would be a great value per yard if you use it a lot. I'll have to try washing it. Unfortunately a lot of my pieces I need to stuff as I go and I'd want to wash it without stuffing, but now I'm really interested in what it looks like after a wash. I checked them out and actually put in an order the other day. The Himalaya Dolphin Baby worked out to a pretty good price. I didn't order any other yarns but was tempted, a lot of the colors were sold out though. I can let you know how long it takes to get here, it says it was 4 day shipping and it shipped yesterday so theoretically it should be here soon. Yarn selection was pretty similar to Hobium but you can get decent shipping prices without buying a ton (to get free shipping).
