Micheal Smith pausing before a shot at a double?! A few times. And he got them! Always felt he rushed a bit on some doubles so this could be a positive.
Targetted whistles are way worse than any boos, because they are purposely trying to cut through the noise to spoil the shot. Pretty much the only thing that can actually effect a shot.

@@Paulhanratty885 yes probably, he’s on the decline like you would expect at his age , he was a late developer and had his peak later than just about anyone, but when he won the worlds and in and around those times he was playing phenomenal darts that on his day was unplayable
We're going to see a lot of Luke vs Luke rematches in this entire year, but Littler is getting Humphrie's number lately. It's going to be one of the rivalries of the year until the next world championship when Littler gets his due.

I love it when a plan falls apart! Crowd's dirty tricks did nothing to Bully Boy. Absolutely nothing. That's how much more composure he has these days. He was a little lucky that MVG completely screwed up that last leg but he made the most of it. Price woulda been up against it whoever he faced in that final. His doubling was really bad at times... that'll be a concern going forward.
Love to see the crowd giving everyone else shit except for Gezzy. Gezzy’s worlds above smith. Would love to see respect for the players in every match. But nothing makes me happier than seeing the English players booed and seeing how they play under the same pressure. PS if it wasn’t for the English giving Gezzy shit there wouldn’t be any “dirty tricks” from the crowd

What a horrible crowd!!! This is the worst crowd i’ve ever seen!!! If this is how darts fans will behave in a crowd, then the PDC should be ashamed for not doing anything about the situation, because this crowd behavior is ridiculous and absolutely unacceptable!!!

@@edwardowen4488 I think for most Darts players the booing isn't that much of an issue. Sure it's not on your side, but at least it is one continuous predictable noise. Whistling is short, sharp, pitched, and unpredictable. And unnerves all and sundry at the wrong times. The whistling is what brings the sport down, and one wonders what the players, referees, and even the tournament sponsors think of that.
Michael Smith looking very strong in Cardiff though I did think at one point he might dive into the crowd Axl Rose style to sort some geezer out. Points on the board for Luke Littler on his first premier league can’t be bad.
Luke smiles is because he's been doing to everyone else what the top boys are doing to him, checkouts the big number's, 9 darter's on and 50% double averages, amazing darts.
Correct me if I'm wrong but Peter Wright only recently started wearing glasses. It's possible they're distorting his vision slightly and he needs to adjust.
It did look rather cold, but I think that was only because the crowd were being such idiots with all the whistling going on. If that hadn't happened, I'm sure he would've given Littler a big hug instead of that half-hearted handshake.
I'll always remember Eric Bristow coming on stage at Cardiff, smiling and waving while they were wild with anger, howls of derision, Eric stuffed their captain and left the stage , smiling and waving!
Smith wasn't going to lose to anyone tonight. Littler at least pushed Smith to max legs. Littler probably shot second-best. Everyone else was either inconsistent or off.
Someone know what kind of tips/points Peter was playing? ...and what actually happened to the new lets call it "Whitlock-Regulation" regarding aggressive points? Did not last that long right?! 😆
@@viralityac It sucks for him. Personally, I like the emotion and passion. Without those aspects, the game would be more dull. As for it being his fault? Not directly, but he has stirred things up over the years. The ear defender incident would suggest he does not cope well with the crowd pressure.
@@adamcalder294 I mean fair enough he did used to stir things up but the abuse has at times went way too far and he's definitely made an effort over the past year or so to be more likeable. Personally I really like him - I think he's a great player and he is a really nice bloke.
In my opinion we shouldn't be booing excessively. I don't really agree with booing players anyway. There's no place for heightened noise especially whistling at crucial moments like finishing on a double. It's absolutely disgraceful. A lot of the people who come to watch don't really watch. It's a waste of a ticket. Disgraceful!
