Jose corrected a journalist that asked him why he chose to call himself the special one many years ago "That was a lie made by the British press. I never said I was THE special one. I said I was A special one. Which is completely different. And the context was that 3 days before I won the CL with a club who never wins CL. And today to coach in the PL you need nothing. Just an agent. Back in my days when I came to chelsea only 2 foreign managers arrived in the PL that year. Bénitez who had to win la Liga and the Europa league with Valencia to coach in the PL and myself who had to win 2 leagues titles the Europa league and the CL with Porto to coach in the PL And the first question was "Are you good enough to even challenge for the title given that you never coached here before?". @@brandonayong5823regardless of a few bad performances, arsenal still very comfortably finished 4th that season, only three points behind chelsea. They won the fa cup and were top of the table in February. Wenger had many poorer seasons.

Well technically, if each manager was sacked overnight to be replaced by the boss they had 10 years ago, they'd all still be in the same place in the table, since they haven't played any more games under the returning manager yet

If wolves held on to Lopetegui he would ruin his career and they would only keep putting off the rebuilding that needs to happen. The club won't have success in the Premier League again until they have one or two reset seasons in the Championship.
