As a City fan, I’m taking nothing for granted. Pep’s defensive setup was woeful last season and I think rhe players won the league in spite of Pep and not bc of Pep which has often been the case. IF Pep elects play the same defensive backline as last season - wingbacks, ridiculous high back line and only a back 2 - we’re def not winning the league bc we’re so easy to counter and concede big chances. Last season we conceded 133%+ more goals on the counter than the season before; had the worst ranked defense in the PL against the counter; had fewer clean sheets and had tied or exceeded the number of goals conceded with 6 PL games left than we had in the entirety of each of the last 3 seasons. That is all attributable to Pep’s poor defensive setup and inability to adapt it much like he did when we won the treble. It didn’t matter who the personnel was, every team we played from Real Madrid to Sheffield to NF to Luton Town to Chelsea to Copenhagen to MU all got multiple chances on the counter down our flanks and all of them scored from it. If we scrap that and Pep does something different, then I’m feeling a bit more confident but still with Rodri cover, I still don’t see City as the favorites unless we actually get a proper cover for Rodri

Arsenal can't buy another 100m player this summer WITHOUT selling a major player. They're already 20m in the hole NOW in terms of PSR. ESR sale covers that 20m gap AND the amortized burdens for Raya and Calafiori. If they want to buy a 100m player, perhaps with a 5-yr contract, that's another 20m to cover for this season.

Arsenal didn't win last season because they lost some very important points because they wasted to many chances in some games. It was not the defense that made them not win the league. It was the lack of goals in a few key games. If they had a decent goal scoring striker last season, they would have won the league.

I dont think this is Arsenals year but I agree on Stevies other points Cities top players are getting leggy, there is quality coming through but not at the level required to be favourites going forward, they will at some point need to replace these players and that is a task to find guys at their level. Arsenal are a younger sqaud and they are building and building.. 2026 is when they will be at their best and by that point City could be in the transition period.... Liverpool could also be in contention for 2026 also.

For Don stop complaining about PSR. PSR has been in place since years the only rule change that has happened is that PL clubs have to spend money from the revenue they earn i.e squad cost rule which is in place by UEFA they can only spend 70% of what they earn on the squad.
