The Premier League has reminded Everton that they will be punished for deceitful playing trading - just days after several clubs conducted a string of deals.
Everton are one of several Premier League clubs who have been scrutinised in recent days as they signed England under-20 international Tim Iroegbunam from Aston Villa for £9m, while academy graduate Lewis Dobbin moved to Villa Park in a similarly-priced deal.
As a result of such deals, Everton, Villa and Chelsea have been accused of trying to boost their finances to comply with the Premier League's Profit and Sustainability Rules before the end of the financial year on June 30.
Now, according to the Telegraph, the Premier League has written to all 20 clubs to remind them that they will be punished for transfer activity that is deemed fraudulent. The report adds the Premier League will be able to request details from clubs on how negotiations took place, to ensure the transactions were conducted in "good faith".
If in any case the Premier League decides that a transfer was not conducted at "arm's length", they will be able to impose fair market value rules on a deal to ensure there is no "false inflation" on transfers and commercial deals.
As a result, the Premier League can demand a return of a transfer fee, in full or in part, if it is judged that the fee has been inflated and the deal was not conducted in "good faith".

A premier league with integrity! do me a favour. There are 6 clubs controlling The top brass of the EPL. There is no democracy, minority rule, 6 + 1 to carry policy changes. Without serious regulation, this league is done.

But paying massively under the market value because the selling club have their backs to the wall with PSR is absolutely fine. Which is what the Mancs are trying to do yet again to lowly Everton.

The Fee we got from Tottenham for Richarlison ,was 20 million short of his fair market value, will Premier league push Tottenham to give us the outstanding 20 million pounds? Ironically that would take us clear of PSR charges.

Ha ha the point I'm making is we pick the wrong fights with the PL. The one we should be querying is that three months after the second PL commission there is still no decision over treatment of interest payments which has a big impact on our PSR and, by extension, our transfer policy. We still don't know where we stand.

He's starting to annoy me abit now got its not just a 1 off its constantly playing Devils Advocate in PL's favour..!!! C'mon Gav stop the sitting on the fence and be honest and call a spade a spade not a rake coz that's all your doing lately raking up ways to put the Club you love down in favour of clear top 6 biased by Masters and the Premier League

No not really as they haven't done anything, they've just reminded clubs that inflating fees to circumvent PSR, when they exchange players, will be investigated per the rules which the clubs agreed. Regarding Saudi deals, as I said in the pod, they're not interested in fees between two clubs involving a single player, per the rules, unless the clubs are related parties (for example under the same ownership) when they would be tested for fair value, like the Saint Maximim deal to Saudi last year. So on the flip side if a club was seen to pay less than the market value for a player, like richarlison to spurs last year, they will make the buying club immerse the selling club the missing funds, get real premier league, you have issues with some clubs, get over it.

I think Gav is being a bit naive if he doesn't think collusion is taking place with single way transactions such as Brewsters. There's some sort of fiddling going on there.

I'm not Matt, there's lots of stuff I've been critical of but not this point. As I've said on this thread and on the pod the failure not to have the hearing over BMD interest payments, from the last commission, that we've waited three months for is very poor. Thanks for listening!
