The pen tool is good for selecting a specific element of the audio, a loud word or whatever, and dipping or increasing the volume at some point. 4 dots then dip (or raise) the center two/bar.
Thanks for this tutorial! When I click on the small arrow in the corners none of the extra options hidden under button come up. I may have to contact adobe for this error.
@@BasicFilmmaker thx for the reply. Found the solution. In win 10 and 11 the down arrows do not work, some sort of a bug. To reveal more tools click and hold left mouse button after selecting tool .
Pen tool is useful for custom shapes, either for motion graphics or masking. For example, you want to create a simple wipe transition with curved edges. Pen tool lets you make an entirely custom shape, and then animate it to change over time accordingly. I could see it useful for some masking too, but I don't use it that way. Likely, I would make a solid color rectangle, then create a mask on the clip using the pen option, and use that to control areas of the image. Especially in regards to luminance. That's how I would control brightness areas of a shot. But I prefer Resolve for that work anyway. Great video!
