You're awesome! I learned two things. 1. right click, audio gain 2. ctrl + click on a footage or audio will insert keyframes. You are awesome, keep creating helpful stuff!

i am screen capturing video and audio from music making software with OBS. In the software, my music peaks at -0.1dB. I record with OBS then convert the .flv to mp4. When I put the mp4 in Premiere, the music peak at -6dB and when I tell it to normalize to 0 dB it does nothing and they still peak at -6. Any ideas?
@Marco_My_Words
@Marco_My_Words Год назад
You can also just open the _Windows_ tab in the top bar, then click _Essential Sound_ so the Essential Sound window shows, then select all the tracks you want to normalize, go to _preset_ -> _dialogue_ -> _standard_ and then in the _intensity_ sub-category select _match automatically_ - could be named something else, it's in German for me, so I had to translate it. Easy as that and you've automatically equalized every single track at the same time.

what if I keep the normal video sound without any editing?
@ringoffire1282
@ringoffire1282 3 года назад
On Avid Media Composer I could use an audio calibration tone so I could adjust the sound on the computer to a level that's comfortable to the ear. After I could start editing the sound and I'd know when the sound is too low or too high, just by listening, learning where I have to change the gain in the program. Is there anything of this sort on Premiere Pro? Couldn't find it. I find this too really helpful because I don't like only trusting my eyes.

What about music? Not background music but music like in a music video? If it hits the very low red at the loudest parts of the song is that ok or will that create distortion? It sound fine in Premiere (not ear hurting distortion during playback with headphones) but will it cause problems after rendered to ProRes or h264 when played on a speaker?

Hey, thank you for the video. Is there a way to adjust all your clips with different audio levels so that they hit the same decibels. I ask this for when you don't have a lot of time and need to edit many clips with some difference in the audio levels, despite using the audio gain and other arrangements sometimes they are still different and can't take the time to go deep into this area. Is there some function that helps make all audios work together?? Thank you
@KYLERHOLLAND
@KYLERHOLLAND 3 года назад
You can highlight all of them and right click then select audio and gain and then select change max amplitude of all to "set your level" and add a compressor on the effects rack to level the audio.

Shouldn´t average audio be around -12?
@atlasmoon5497
@atlasmoon5497 5 лет назад
usually yes but I heard that for youtube it's usually a good idea to go as loud as you can without clipping or distorting audio to accommodate a big range of devices

@fylzero
@fylzero 4 года назад
For tracking, input volume should max at -12 ...basically the equivalent of analog 0. Mix output (which is basically what this video is talking about) just needs to be below digital 0db output... essentially it just has to not clip the signal. This is at least my current understanding of it.

@edwincarrasquillo4866
@edwincarrasquillo4866 5 лет назад
Aye so do I normalize max peek to -12 then normalize all peeks to -8??
@Affax
@Affax 4 года назад
This is correct, however, you should peak it at 0, as there are many devices that watch your videos. On some of them, audio playback isn't good and it helps a lot if the audio is loud. You can always adjust the volume yourself. Most good RU-vidrs actually peek their audio at 0 and that's why most videos are at the same volume level.
@blackridgeproductions2738
@blackridgeproductions2738 4 года назад
@@edwincarrasquillo4866 No. Averages around -12 (so dialogue) most things are to preference after you get your dialogue at that average and then normally MAX peaks (so the loudest sounds in your film) are at -8 or -6. I can double check with my sound friends but thats a good rule. UNLESS you are putting content on the WEB then u can have your peaks at 0 and adjust everything else to that if that makes sense?
