if you took the same approach to it, you could. i find it hard to believe you backtracked and got stronger before attempting a boss again in HK. or beat your head against the wall for hours at a time on one boss like you did Eldin Ring. not knocking ya. but if you took that exact same approach that is required from all of us with a Souls game, you should succeed.
Can we stop blaming gamers for not buying games!? First off, Dead Space did sell well. The problem is unrealistic expectations set by publishers due to needing to offset bloated development budgets. Second off, with games now costing more there's just objectively less willing to dive in at launch. We need to stop acting like that $10 price hike is meaningless. The ONLY person to blame if Dead Space is shelved is EA. They could've sold it for less or did a cheaper remaster instead.

When a million sales is considered a "flop" then we have a major issue with budgets or expectations. The price was really stable for a while too and took much longer than the average game to start having any notable discounts which also could've contributed to less sales within the launch window.

Fallout 76 got a big resuscitation this past week. And Fallout 4 got it before the update. Started a new character with the wife in 76 and restarting 4 again.
Since PlayStation is releasing games on PC, I hope they add them to the Windows Store with Xbox achievement support. Once I get a powerful PC, since my gaming laptop is several years old and expels hot air whenever a game is being played, I will pick up Death Stranding. I did try it when it was on GamePass but I never went back, in part due to the hot laptop.
I heartily disagree with the idea that Warhorse studios should simplify the combat in KCD2. The realism and difficulty of the combat from the first installment WAS precisely what made the world feel real when you played it. Because, when you were travelling from town to town, and you were surrounded by 5 bandits who were note wearing armor and THEY defeated you, THAT feeling of weakness pushed you (or at least me) to want to get better. Learning to control the battlefield, and swordfight felt amazing, probably only superceded by mordhau's combat. It just feels so fast and visceral, like the tiniest mistake will lead to death. If they simplify the combat, it will be a worse game for it.
The Fallout TV show was fantastic. Way better than I expected. It's great to see Fallout 4 and Fallout 76 have such a resurgence. Really makes me wish we had a remake of 3 and New Vegas though, especially considering how far off Fallout 5 is. Elder Scrolls and Fallout have so much room for growth, I'd love to see other studios get a chance to develop something with those IPs. Obsidian proved you can do it well. Sort of feel the same with 343 and Halo. I hate having such a massive universe and IP essentially handcuffed to a single studio. And yes I know ESO exists and does extremely well. More talking about mainline SP entries.

Love cog but he trippin when it comes to KCD combat. I didn’t like it at first but through training and leveling up, the sense of accomplishment I felt when I was able to 1 v however many enemies they threw at me was awesome. I love that combat.
Hey Matty, regarding the Invincible segment at 0:54:50 - the company you're talking about is Skybound, not Skydance. They are two separate companies. Skybound IS Robert Kirkman's company (the creator of Invincible). They took over The Walking Dead franchise when Telltale Games shut down (as Kirkman is also the creator of TWD, so he wanted to see the project be finished). Skydance (and Amy Hennig) are not involved
Really good show, cog was funny ready to go in on ronin. Re ddfallout, they seem unlikely to really capitalize on it further with a new entrant. Numbers will be insane for all their games comparatively, but doesn't seem like they'll get anything out anytime soon. A 76 expedition would be possible I guess, but with the timing difference doesn't seem to make much sense. Pulling FO5 away as Todd's last game also seems not likely , an in exile entrant like Matty mentioned is the only one I really I can think of is a maybe besides remasters

I'm glad to see FO4 get so much love and attention. Even though I had a 360 during its heyday, I never could get into the series until 4, which is still my favorite. I've gone back and played 3 and NV, which I enjoyed, but I never finished them. FO4 though I put so many hours into, did the majority of its side content, and beat with the Brotherhood ending. It's still my favorite Fallout despite playing the OGs.
4 wasn't my first Fallout but its the one that made me want to keep replaying and exploring the entire map. 3 was good. New Vegas ,a total letdown, was boring and empty compared to 3 and 4. Like it wasn't finished or something.

Don't worry, dude. My friends give me a TON of shit for not loving on Kaladin. Shallan was boring initially, but her story gets soooo good by the end of WoK and (so far) has had the most momentum for me in WoR. We'll see if that changes! Only a thousand pages to go! LOL

The first book is a bit like The Hunger Games, but by book 2 it becomes a full space opera. They’re much shorter than Stormlight and move at a brisk pace. Fallout 1 and 2, in my opinion, have a " timeless " look to them, there's nothing to " brush up", but they could remaster them and put some QOL changes and improve the bloody inventory and some clunky designs.

I am absolutely not buying Outlaws anywhere near launch. Day one DLC is paywalled content that is taken out of the full price game. Waiting for the complete game with all DLC for a cheap price.
The issue with adapting ES into a show, live action or animated, is that it’s identity is heavily tied to its medium. At its core it’s a fantasy game yes, but the perspective Bethesda brings into it AS a game is what makes it so unique and engaging across every entry. There isn’t a unique tone like in fallout that can transcend into other mediums so easily, if you were to make an elder scrolls show, you would have to look at what makes the series unique as an experience, and avoid your typical fantasy adaptation, which is a tight rope to stroll on.
I'm a newer listener and have been loving all of last stand that I have been listening to. In regards to the star wars outlaws controversy, are people just new to gaming? Day 1 dlc and season passes are nothing new. I don't particularly like them but I don't get the anger for this.
It's ok. The villain is super dumb. No pun intended. As an older person(46), I don't get the humor of the kid turtles. They are not my turtles at all. Definitely Nickelodeon. But I haven't watched anything animated TMNT since the 2004 show. Sooooo. That was when I bounced out. 80s/90s turtles forever.

On the Way of Kings, Those interludes become important... but much much later on. Like... They're characters and events that won't get woven into the main story until the 3rd, 4th, etc books. They're really freaking long though, I can't just read the Stormlight books, I have to put other things inbetween them because Stormlight is just heavy-heavy-heavy all the way through, with only a little levity. If you look at the interstitial novellas, Dawnshard and Edgedancer, they're about these interlude side characters.
I need to cover some of these points ( i like all the fallouts and 76) 2:19:07 the west coast was already rebuilt in NCR territory its a full on society but Bethesda blew it up, also a reason NCR was at hoover damn was to power shady sands. 2:21:49 a lot of lore was changed ghouls now have a magic potion to not go feral, t60 can be one shot, shady sands location is moved, etc. 2:22:46 most new vegas fans prefer that and 1/2 2:24:36 almost all the aesthetics of the show were fallout 4/76 style, what does that even mean, they also once again blew up civilization 'shady sands' and didn't portray the west coast properly it was a city that was built up look at fallout 2 but Bethesda changed it back to a wasteland again. also making the ncr raiders with paintball masks that are also a cult that gets naked and chants while drinking blood isnt appreciation. last thing how did the show respect classic fallout or new vegas when shady sands is blown up by a vault tec dad out of nowhere off screen essentially robbing fallout 1/2 players of all the choices they made. If they like new vegas why did the ncr get portrayed as a crazy cult of raiders that get their ass kicked by the Brotherhood of steel? Also shady sands location was moved along with Lucy's vault not making sense because it should of been raided by the master in fallout 1. Plus somehow them blowing up new vegas is also fan service to NV fans somehow along with makin MR. House work with vault tec and that goes against his in game dialogue. Would like to add this what if the commonwealth in fallout 4 was destroyed off screen along with the brotherhood of steel would you still be cheering if everything that happened over their meant nothing?

People are upset with Ubisoft, but they shouldn’t be. Take a step back and ask yourself how much did it cost to make this game. What sales numbers do they need for this game to be a success and be profitable. You can’t get mad at Company for trying to figure out a way to make more money in an industry where we literally just keep saying man. These games cost too much to make and these companies aren’t having huge profit margins on the AAA games, we are asking them to develop. They made their game and then they said here’s some extra stuff not included in the original game. Do you want to buy it? If you don’t want to buy it, don’t play the original see if the original original game warrants another investment of $30 or $40. Wait until you see reviews if people say this game is the best you can find in the Star Wars universe, then you know buy it. No one is forcing you to buy this game and while you might not like that, a particular mission surrounding a particular character, we are all fond of being part of DLC that doesn’t mean that that character is not part of the main story as well. That was an assumption many people jumped to, and they are wrong for doing so because none of them have played this game. The only thing they don’t like is someone stood up and said will give you more of this if you give us more money. You don’t even know if it’s worth the investment so wait and see. If you don’t like the practice of DLC altogether buy any games then because most companies are trying to sell you DLC because they need more money for the game they made.
Imagine having Tim, Leonard, Brian, Todd, and Josh all get in a room and cook up the ultimate Fallout game. 😊 Probably wont happen, but its a real possibility with everyone at microsoft
Honestly, achievements were bad for my gaming experience. I got too focused on the meta game of achievements and as a result played games longer and differently than what was optimal for fun. I switched to Steam from console, and that actually helped me to not care anymore about achievements and enjoy games more for what they do and are without distractions.
I’m the same way with the Star Wars Outlaws discourse… I’m still getting and playing the game. Don’t care about the day 1 DLC or exclusive mission with Jabba. It’s not going to prevent me from playing the game and seeing what’s up with it. I think some people are maybe overreacting on it, even tho I’m not a fan of the business moves from Ubisoft.

All I want is a Fallout game that looks good. Ditch that ‘last gen two gens ago’ anchor of a Creation Engine, with its low poly, low detail, low res garbage assets and get some lumen and nanite glory onscreen. For the record, the art direction is superb-all that 50’s art deco style stuff is fantastic. It’s that godforsaken engine and the ugliness it craps out that needs a universal overhaul.

Currently enjoying the Fallout show. Half way through it now. But I can say it's a giant woke bomb that adds zero to the experience. But i like it in spite of that. I might complain less on the internet if more shows like this were decent. Probably why its the only thing that has stuck for me in the last half decade or so.
With how long games take to make, the very best scenario would be a remake, but more likely would be remasters. Sony was lucky that their studio had a TLOU remaster just out the door before the series with the second one coming after season 1. Doubling down on fallout 5 would probably still mean a release after season 5 or 6 at best.

Matty, don't be bitching at us people that didn't buy Dead Space! Personally I played and beat it on PS3, it was a great game as is so why should I have bought it again? I want new games and experiences NOT remakes/remasters. So, I'll throw it back to you, stop asking for remakes/remasters (KOTOR) because you're in the minority that wants it, not us. So when a KOTOR remaster inevitably comes out and fails in sales it's on content creators like you because the rest of us never wanted it. That's the danger when content creators cause a whirlwind for games that they only want, yet the general public doesn't; it creates a false market then down the road people get laid off. Be careful with your voice, with great power comes great responsibility.
I am honored that you think I have enough sway to not only direct games being made, but also lead them to their downfall alongside mass layoffs... I don't. Resident Evil 2/4 Remake, Final Fantasy VII Remake, Yakuza remakes, Destroy All Humans Remake, Link's Awakening Remake, Ratchet & Clank 2016, Tony Hawk 1 & 2 Remake, and soooo many more sold well.
