Someone help- I dont have compost, and I dont want to spend money buying compost etc. My plan was this- cut up all vegetables and put them straight into garden bed as layer 1. Layer 2 I was going to put as thick as possible layer of leaves. Layer 3 I was going to put grass trimmings. Then I was gonna out diluted urine on top of all that. Then lastly put down a black tarp. After 3-5 months, can I expect all the leaves/clippings to have changed into compost and ready to be planted into?
While your initiative to create compost is commendable, the method you described is unlikely to produce usable compost in just 3-5 months. Composting requires a balanced mix of carbon-rich and nitrogen-rich materials, along with proper aeration and moisture. I recommend watching my composting video for guidance on how to create compost effectively - ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-1LZzgi1k9aA.html
