Lovely vlog, you got lots of organising done. I love the transition of seasons also, evenings are getting cooler and darker earlier. Your dinner looked so nice! Have a great week ❤
Ooh. The tune to Practical Magic. Time to watch that again soon. Love all your comfort food. It’s almost time to start putting the heating on, cardigans, wellies and cosy evenings watching a good film. Rather you than me up that ladder, but your wisteria is beautiful. Thanks for sharing and take care xx
Loved that you mentioned, that sometimes in order to finish all the food/products you buy and it is impossible to maintain a perfectly ✨aesthetic✨ looking organisation.
Maybe you could also show someday how you handle leftovers. What kind of meals do you refrigerate and eat in the following days? Do you freeze your leftover cooking? Do you freeze any of the breads Alex makes? Etc…
We always eat our leftovers the following day for lunch or dinner. Alex’s bread rarely gets frozen because it’s usually gobbled up in a couple of days haha
Always a pleasure to watch your videos on Sunday evening! My holidays are soon over and I'll start teaching in a few days... I'll soon pick up blackberries and make that crumble. Love from France.
I’m actually scared for autumn because of the seasonal depression it brings me every year🥲 However the one thing I love about autumn is the cozy content on RU-vid, especially on this channel hehe
Oh I’m so sorry you experience seasonal depression that’s so tough. Hopefully my videos can provide some joy on the darker days! Make sure to get help if you haven’t already and look after yourself ❤️🫶🏻
I’ve been meaning to get help for years, thanks for reminding me…hopefully this year is the year I do it🤞🩷 Btw just got to the end of the video, am I crazy or were you singing the song from Twilight soundtrack?:D
So sorry, depression is such a dreadful disorder. I actually love the darker days, less ppl to deal with, I just feel safe and secure in my little haven away from the world! I miss lockdown!
I really liked the fridge clean section of the video. Before i went on holiday this year I completely emptied my fridge and freezer. It was quite a cathartic experience but im looking forward to filling back up both soon.
As a organised fridge-having person, I shop with a weekly menu in mind, taking into account everything I already have in my fridge and cupboards. I also only shop once both my fridge and cupboards are empty or near-empty. It means my shopping budget is higher since I have to buy everything (no stock cupboard food really), and I can’t be super spontaneous, but it works pretty well for me !
I was soo happy too see this video love autumn all the cosy things you can do like your style dresses I love wearing them with a cardigan so cosy thanks for sharing x
Just bought your book for my birthday. Been waiting for 2 months as part of delayed gratification and I’m sooooo excited to open it inn2 days. Love your recipes 😊
Lovely video as always. I was happy that the HP sauce stayed in the fridge. It’s not common here in the MN but it is my favorite sauce to find. There is nothing like it. ❤️
It was so lovely seeing you trim the wisteria, like so actively taking ownership of your home with such care, and it also reminded me that things like that are why we need to go to the gym and lift weights, as separate as they may seem. All of your hard work at the gym will allow you to keep moving up and down that ladder with ease and safety for a long time to come.
If it makes your life easier, you don’t need to store tahini or nut butters in the fridge - just keep the layer of oil on top and that will preserve them even at room temp. No idea why the storage instructions say to refrigerate, in my experience they’re really tough to use when cold.
Yay! Makes me so happy to see you posted. Ready for fall here too❤ The rain and wind are my favorite part. Apple picking. Buying a few pumpkins for the porch. So ready!!
Lucky you to have a transition in seasons...here where I live in Italy is still so very hot and it hasn't been raining since forever and this is causing a huge mess...please send some rain and cold here too 😄
I cannot wait for autumn! I live in Barcelona and this summer had been hideous. 3/4 heatwaves humidity off the charts. No air con. Used to love summer when I first moved here nearly 20 years ago. Beach after work and weekends. Now I prefer spring and autumn, maybe it's an age thing?
I love watching your videos. I am diabetic and would like to know if there are a few recipes that would be good for diabetics. I get so tired of the same food all the time.
you could shop those pickled onions into a spread or relish type thing. I do the same. crave and go through phases then turn off of it. Left with what remains. Can't let go. So sauces, dressings, dips and relish type things is where they get dumped for me. =)
It’s starting to get colder during the early hours but we’re still in the 90’s so basically we are baking! However September hopefully will bring about cooler days! I love autumn 🍂 and Maddie’s channel is going to feature epic Fall/Autumn videos so stay tuned!
I can't wait for autumn too, to be precise - mainly for this nightmare of a summer to end. It's been so insanely hot for the past several months and it still is (Central Europe). Unfortunately, the extreme weather is our new reality due to the global warming.
Beautiful vlog as always Maddie ❤️ Please though can I beg you to not keep climbing ladders?! I mean this in the nicest and most caring way! I come from a farming upbringing along with my two brothers. We grew up doing highly risky things without giving it a second thought. My youngest brother and I went off and did ‘townie’ jobs whilst meanwhile our eldest brother has kept a farming career. He fell off a ladder 10 years ago and broke his pelvis. He had to learn to walk again. It really isn’t worth the risk and I definitely would advise you to get someone in to do it for you xx
How long do you keep leftovers in the fridge? I always get so paranoid that they’ll go bad and make someone ill so I only keep leftovers if in the fridge if I know we’ll eat them the following day
It depends on what the food is but typically 3 days! With vegan food it’s generally simpler than animal products but you can pretty much always tell by how something smells! If you wait for the food to cool down and refrigerate immediately in an airtight container then the food will be safe to eat for a few days (there will definitely be exceptions to this, but they’d mainly be animal foods). The iffy-ness comes when food isn’t put away soon enough or not stored properly
