Amazing how rewarding it is doing the small things and how important they are. Doors and windows will be ready soon and I must be prepared. This Portugal renovation is taking shape. #lifestyle #renovation #home #portugal
Andrew your property is beautiful. Your home will be amazing. Great job on the door plates. You do such a precise job on all you tackle. Looking for ward to what you create inside.❤️🇨🇦
I watched all your work while writing and completing a 500page handbook. Currently working on three more. Your work keeps me on my work, as I am always encouraged by your progress. As I said before, this is my wife’s page and I use it.
Very exciting progress on your beautiful property! Every move forward is one step towards "completion". It's amazing how installing those floor pieces in the doorways helps bring everything together. All the best!
I loved the cinematic quality of this video especially. Your opening shot was great. Loved the overhead shot when you were fitting the door slab (9:00 mark-ish). And blue skies, before the ominous clouds. Great update!❤
Your holding tanks are in. The roof is beautiful and walls are stabilized. Now, you will have the doors and windows in. All dried in, and ready to work inside, for the rainy winter season. GREAT JOB!
Thank you, Andy for taking us along with you in this project. Even as I sit here in my easy chair watching you, I feel a sense of relief when the bubble is centered, and I gasp when the dog steps across the threshold over freshly pored concrete.😊
Those entry points are going to make such a dramatic impact. I can envision the walls fully rendered and the earthen coloured tiles inside. Quality takes time with effort and unfortunately the expense. Enjoying your journey Andy
Hi Andrew, amazing...am viewing from Cape Town at 10.30 pm! Usually you're on during early hours so your post is Sun am! Very nice, doorways done...glad cooler weather has arrived for you, but Winter still hanging in there for us, amid the glorious Spring flowers...💐
I really miss your commentary on what your doing and how etc etc. I don’t know why people thought you talked too much ! such a shame. Great work though Andy. 👍🏽😎
I am just amazed at how much you can do by yourself! It may take a bit longer without help, but you sure are making this happen! Can’t wait to see the finished house. I know it will be fabulous.
I am an artist so, I feel OK saying, "You have a very good aesthetic sense... the colors are point on when you look through window or door into the landscape...beautiful!"
The house is looking absolutely great .Think of the grubby house in need of so much of your special love and care ,and consider it now! Your work is a joy to watch .the perfection of each project is pleasing to see . In my opinion you never put a foot wrong with your aesthetic choices and each task is carried out perfectly . You never hurry the job and ignore the meticulousness which you apply to everything.❤
I am amazed at the heavy work you are able to do, in the heat and sun of Portugal. It is better to get this done when you are young and strong. I could not do it now. I can't even bend over to plant garlic today. So glad you can lift the weights and your hips and knees can do the bending.
Another great show. I enjoy watching the work you do and see the transformation of it and you property. Here’s to many more shows in your future. Me and my partner have started our search in the Algarve for we will want to retire to in a few years. We where there for the in the month of Augusta and visit several cities and found Tavira to be place we want to take a second look at on our next visit. Thanks again for inspiring me to get and do something!!😊
👍🏴just arrived home this evening from Lisbon where the 1930’s hotel had the most amazing window dressings complete with holes bored into th release condensation
looking great! I'm amazed of your skills, and energy level. It's tremendously enjoyable to share this experience with you, thanks for posting these videos.
We call those rains "our afternoon dust settlers". It's just enough rain to wet everything down and cool the afternoon heat. Beautiful night sky. It makes such a huge difference not to have city lights conflicting with a perfect star view.
the brown tile and the white marble look incredible together! even the different types of textures compliment each other very well. I really love that combo!
I think it's not marble, in Portugal it's called "Pedra-Sabão"... "Soapstone (also known as steatite or soaprock)" in English perhaps? I've seen how easily he cut those pieces and chamfering them.
The reality of renovating while also living your life is that patience is critical. Happy you are choosing to go at a pace that your body can handle!👏🏻👍🏻
❤👍🏻you are making a superb job of the door way. Just wondering, aren’t you doing all terracotta after step? Great windows & doors are going in soon. Its going to look so different. Have a fantastic week. Take Care. 💞
Always enjoy watching your content and the progress you make. It's super satisfying! The doorways are looking good! Loved the contrast between the roof tile and the threshold. Having a similar color for the floor tiles will look really nice! It's such a clean, sharp look.
Wow , you can see so many more stars in the sky compared to South Carolina USA. Just love your videos and your pups 🐶. I don’t know how you do everything you do. Amazing!
The doorways look awesome. I love the tile you chose. Looks congruent with the ground outside and will look great with whatever you decide to put inside. Much love from Atlanta GA USA
Very nice work, neat and refined taste regarding colours. I'd like to make a point if I may about the people you are waiting to come for the measurements of the windows. In my country of origin, which is a Mediterranean one and attitudes are quite similar, we take subtle action to "remind" the company that we are waiting for them, e.g. asking them if they have any idea when they are coming(!)
Looking very nice Andrew. I love that marble! Im curious that you didn’t put any mesh in the concrete beneath. Those entrances will look so sharp with that tile and the marble. What an incredible night sky!
It’s crazy how this has become my favourite thing to watch every week. Ever since I saw the village house Timelapse I’ve looked forward to watching every Saturday. Started only recently just before you started the water tank
Enjoying your progress so well done. If I can make one comment is that you should not be tiling onto concrete that has not had sufficient time to dry which in your climate is around a week to two weeks. The moisture has to come out and it can cause the tile adhesive to let go. Hopefully yours comes out the front and not cause the tiles adhesive to delaminate. Anyway well done. Keep up the good work
You're right, the soft terra cotta color is a neutral that goes with everything but pink. I've had it in my house for decades, on floors and for wall color. I'm long past needing a change, but doubt I'll find any other color so versatile.
Nice threshold job, tip for future, put 2 thin lats on adhesive and slide step on those, prevents bunching adhesive, also can use when using 2 side one chance contact adhesives, once in place pull lats out and what ever your placing is spot on 👍
It sure does make a difference to have the doorsills in place, doesn't it !!?! ..Think I was getting too used to the wide open look,😃 but they do look great!!
After seeing the houses you and brother finished, I have full confidence that you'll make all the right choices to finish this house right. So excited at your progress each week.
