LET'S GOOO!! the algorithm pushed this for me and i AGREE WITH YOU!! getting the all or nothing mentality of INKtober (or whatever theme you're going with ) is not the best to go in with! Just getting back on the horse to say, and knocking a bit out is where it's at! I am making it my goal to do INKtober this year and also capture it as well! I hope to see you achieve and succeed this year and I cannot wait to see where this CALMtober turns out to be! Ya got a sub and I love the vibes you and Rupert create! -Agent00sonic
You have such a wonderfully pleasant voice! Thank you for sharing your tips. And hello to your lovely cat. He is gorgeous! I too have cats and they too love playing with my things and run all over my art. (I'm terrified they might get something toxic on theirs paws or in their fur and I try to diligently store away all paint-related dangers.) My trick for Inktober is that I started as soon as the prompts were released (26 August) and it takes as long as it takes. It's okay if I need 4 days for a picture as long as I draw/paint every single day until all 31 prompts are finished. During my first Inktober two years ago I tried to actually finish each prompt in one day. In order to accomplish that I tried to lower my expectations: just inking, no colouring, small size, simple ideas, accepting unsatisfactory results, so no fussing over failures. But I couldn't go through with that. I NEEDED colour, simple just didn't do it for me, and towards the end I went from 2 pictures per A4 to one picture on A3. I enjoyed the challenge, finished 33 pictures (two more before I finished the last prompt)... by the end of January. Yeah, so it wasn't really Inktober (although I did ink all 33 pictures), but it took much longer, but I enjoyed the process and learned a great deal. This year I started A5, but after the first prompt I have already moved to A4 (A5 sketchbook double page) and find the small size rather limiting. 😂 I think I'm doing all the amateur mistakes - again: too big, too much and colour takes three times longer. But I'm fine with it. Wishing you a wonderful Calmtober. I have subscribed and look forward to your videos!
