Would be interesting to know the savings you need for 2 months of tennis tournaments. Great videos 👏. The financial breakdown might be a good topic for the next vid.
Tennis is brutal at the lower levels. One small injury can put you back months. Do you think your long term plan will be to coach. If you can stay fit and injury free getting older actually opens more doors in the tennis world. For example playing for GB in older age groups.
I’d love to continue playing professionally for as long as I can, but you’re right one small injury and you can be out for ages. I’m starting to coach online, I’m passionate about bringing pro level coaching to people while I’m still playing on the tour. But in the future I think I will coach and hopefully still be fit to play
You guys are funny with your Coffee disagreement ! Girlfriend and I have the exact same - I take it Black because I love the coffee taste , she’ll have a Cappuccino if we go out which admittedly looks much nicer and more special ! 😂🙈 ☕️
There are so many great videos of college players auditioning for colleges places and even Karue Sell story adds to the confusion. How do people know what level they are and if they have the qualities and standard of play to be a pro. Lots of RU-vidrs on this journey but what does an atp ranking mean if you have peaked or may not be progressing. By definition not everyone can keep improving their ranking. Other RU-vidrs seem to be pro hitting partners for top pros at tournaments. Are you at that level? Is that a sustainable end in itself? What level of ranking can your game reached? Could you beat Karue? Would love to know show you are calibrating your level and ambition. Take care.
If you are not in top 100 in the world in Junior ITF ranking by the age of 15 years old or latest by age of 16 years old then it's almost impossible to make it as pro.
It can cost about £500/£1000 for a week, including travel, flights, hotel, food, stringing and equipment costs etc. depends which tournaments you go to
Travel, fuel flights etc and hotel costs food, stringing at the venues, tournament entry fees, I think on a budget each week costs around £500/£1000 to play
@@seanplaystenis Cool, I'll check it out. A suggestion could be to set up a patreon and offer technique reviews for members or something, maybe you already thought about that. Good luck in the upcoming tourneys!
Wait until you start a family, you wont want to be away then. I see a lot of young coaches wanting away from it due to (mainly) money. If you arent no 1 in your county by the age of 18 then you probably wont make it on the tour. It really is a tough life.
It’s difficult, everyone develops at different rates, I like to be optimistic and just think if you believe you can be a great tennis player you can. I was number 1 in the country for u18 and it didn’t really change much for me, I got no funding for it. Parts of the life are tough but others are very rewarding, apart from staying fit and learning a lot about the game, I’ve met a lot of good connections and had exciting opportunities
You need money for sure, travelling to tournaments etc, I’m still figuring it out how to do it sustainably and focus on training/tournament prep. But you’re right you do need help
