As part of the Reimagining Arts Centre Melbourne project, the State Theatre will close for major refurbishments following The Australian Ballet’s final curtain call of Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland! So you may notice the foyers around the State Theatre look a little different when you’re next visiting us. In preparation for the works, the Public Art Collection in the foyers is being carefully removed to either go on loan to another gallery or placed in secure storage.

While the State Theatre is undergoing its greatest refurbishment to date, Arts Centre Melbourne remains open.
These works are part of the Melbourne Arts Precinct Transformation delivered by MAP Co, Development Victoria, Creative Victoria.
