CRC employees and contractors recently volunteered their time at the Bolsa Chica Ecological Reserve to remove invasive plant species from the nesting sites of the endangered California Least Tern and the threatened Western Snowy Plover. The California Department of Fish and Wildlife [TAG] oversaw the project which was a success thanks to the many volunteers who turned out and gathered more than 20 large bags of invasive plants. This work is crucial to creating an attractive and safe place for the birds to nest and populate the reserve.
