My oven broke the day before Thanksgiving last year. I cooked a full homemade meal in a crockpot, toaster oven and one electric burner 😆 it worked! And it was good. Where there's a will there's a way. And corned beef in a crockpot became our new Thanksgiving favorite instead of turkey.
I am humbly blessed to have a working electric stove and oven ( my preference as well over gas ), but once I got some kitchen toys, I have too much fun them to use the stove and oven. Only if I were ever to bake meat that cannot go on a Foreman then I would use reg oven so yo avoid grease fire in toaster oven.
Yep my oven is broke so I bought a airfryer to cook a turkey breast in , I tried everything ti get the plastic smell out of the new airfryer and couldnt so I put the turkey breast in a crock pot with gravey, i shreaded it and served over the mashed tators, just me and my roommate so was good
If he did this in his dorm room, I doubt it, many people celebrating the holidays alone, and the number is growing. He taught me some tips for next year though. Never thought about putting marshmellows on sweet potatoes.
Wow! That was impressive. People don't understand, not everyone has someone to celebrate the holidays with but, you can still be thankful and inventive. Kudos!
OMG, if you did this level of culinary arts in your dorm room, I can only salivate at the thought of what you would do in a full kitchen. I hope this was just for our amusement, and that you spent Thanksgiving with many family, and friends. Happy Thanksgiving to everyone!!!🦃🍽🍂🍁🧡💛
As someone who cooks for my family for years, you killed this! Me and my old roomies in the dorm would fry chicken on Sundays, but this is top tier af.
Gotta give him respect. Must have paid attention to how mama would make it....Thanksgiving is the one meal I wished I had more time to learn from my mother before she passed. I can cook almost everything she made EXCEPT Thanksgiving. Really sucked this year. Miss ya mom!
Hang in there . Its the worst feeling ever but time heals all wounds and i feel the same on Christmas my mom made the best pozole and mexican wedding cookies and more. Wish i wouldve wrote down everything or learn it. Wish i wasnt so busy or obsessed trying to make money and with work that i could've spent last years with her. ❤❤❤cant go back
When i was in college, i was allowed 5 appliances. I got a 3-in-1 Toaster oven with the griddle and coffee pot, a 3-1 crock pot, a blender, and a convection oven and refrigerator. I was cooking up alot of good food. 😊
I’m convinced that bro just has all these ingredients and utensils on his bedside table bc how did he jst pull out this chicken cooker out of no where💀😹
That looks great. Well done!!! It's not easy being away from family especially difficult when ur not with ur parents during Thanks Giving. This dude is gonna be a great dad one day. His parents raised him right. Hats off.
Looks sooo fire. Excellent work once again sir. That rotation spit is so bad ass I can’t believe u pulled that off with a huge turkey! Happy turkey day
I've seen the mini oven before, I want to think on Amazon. But it's neat to see one in action. 😆 I was really impressed with the little pot, and will tryto find that on Amazon also. *0* 💖✨️
That's pretty amazing. If you're single, you shouldn't be with all that amazing resourcefulness. What a catch! Happy Thanksgiving and thanks for the entertainment!
This awesome, but heads up, a paper towel is not enough to prevent wet raw turkey from contaminating the cutting board if it has salmonella. If the juices can get through, so can bacteria. Use a piece of aluminum or a couple sheets of plastic wrap. Salmonella isn't common, but it's not pleasant.
I am thoroughly impressed 👏🏽👏🏽. When I was in college my fellow classmates couldn’t handle microwaveable Velveeta without the fire department making a visit 🙄
Awww I remember those college days.. sometimes you have to do what you have to do. I'm sure you enjoyed yourself. Happy Thanksgiving to you and all that understand the struggle sometimes 🥰
yams (the sweet potato and marshmallow) are really good! they taste sweet but not like candy. if you like sweet potato then you might like yams. ive never added pecan but that would be good for a crunch!
@@jyoung4925 the original comment was referring to "sweet potato thing" as a food item mainly composed of sweet potatoes. not how sweet potatoes taste by itself
The basics of Thanksgiving is super easy. And you just proved it. Your cooking time--and tastiness--improves when you isolate one body part to work on...so you don't have to contend with the complex shape of the turkey and the fact that dark and white have uneven cook times!
