I hope you had a lovely Mother’s Day Dana! Max is so lucky to have you both as parents! I’m from the UK so can’t help with brands, but I recommend waterproof baby booties which could fit over shoes, when he’s ready to walk. They’ve got to learn to walk and then learn to walk in welly boots, so I like to wait on them for a couple of months until the tot is really steady on their feet. Now they would be perfect over socks so he could crawl and explore beyond the picnic rug (which will be hard to keep him on soon). Also with a hood up he would be OK in the carrier in light rain without an umbrella. I would also recommend grippy socks for inside as he’s starting to pull up.

For Max's baby shoes, go to Walmart or any place that carry them very cheap. Right now is only for protection, and he will outgrow baby shoes within a month! Same with clothes, he will out grow everything without having time to wear them out!

Loved the video! Just some tips on Freya... I feel like she has a lot of pinned up energy sometimes. I don't know if you guys are already giving her a lot of free time but I would definitely think about that too instead of just training her. It will make training easier aswell if she's walked off her energy first. Our dog could run for hours per day when she was young. It seems like Freya stays under command a lot of the times while she could be playing/running free. I don't know if this is intentionally or unintentionally. I just think, with shepard dogs especially it's always a shame if they loose their playfulness because they tend to respond to training so well. Apart from this I also think it's good to think about 'exercise', 'training' and 'raising' separately. Raising her meaning to have her respond to 'no' when she jumps up for example or to other boundaries instead of just training commands. And to also ensure she's calm and she's in the state of mind you want her to be (regardless if she's sitting, lying down or running around). That way she's able to do her own thing, even around Max and when you're working because she will respond to you at anytime. It seems like she already does this so it won't be hard to do with her. I'm just trying to say the exercise and raising is most important in my opinion because you'll have a happy and peaceful dog that is well adjusted around people and kids and obeys you when you set boundaries. The training will only be a plus because it will enable you to give more types of commands in different situations and give her extra mental stimulation. I hope you understand the difference, it's hard to explain.

When the shelf becomes your desk, add a drop/fold down platform (door) on the bottom for a computer keyboard with a lip on the front so it doesn't slide off. The shelf is perfect height for the screen and you won't have to think so much about staying standing on a box. 🙋‍♀️

I have never seen a shitake farm and this sounds interesting for recipes and vegan meat combos. Glad you are on site and can move forwards in the build. Max and Freja are good together for comedy. Please see that Max gets good shoes to wear outdoors especially so he can run and play and make his legs and feet stronger too. Granted he will grow quickly but good shoes are imperative in the first five years of growth to avoid future foot problems.

Gorgeous! Oyster mushrooms are also really easy to grow, we grow them in our greenhouse in hay in buckets! Also regarding Max's shoes, we live in Bobux shoes, VivoBarefoot Kids and Camper kids shoes. ... they're all barefoot style and super wide fitting, perfect for babies growing feet (and all humans actually). xx

A german company called wildling Shoes make barefoot shoes for children todlers and adults. i love them and they ship worldwide. These shoes give minimal support so children learn to walk without restrictions. 😊❤

Stride rite shoes are great for Max! They used to have stores. I don’t know if they still do but you can probably find them online. They’re very well-made, but the only thing is they are a little pricey. They do go through them so quickly because they’re growing so fast. ❤

I would recommend barefoot shoes for Max - and for you guys as well. I really like Vivo Barefoot and Wildlings, but there are so many nice brands with shoes for both children and grownups... Groundies, Tikki, Mukishoes, xeroshoes, Softstar shoes, Balenka and many more ❤

Our oldest had bilateral clubfeet and his Pediatric Orthopedist always recommended high top converse to help support the ankles from turning in.

I’m interested in your internet realiability? We live in the wilderness of northern 🇨🇦 and have struggled to get reliable internet for years. We are just in the process of switching from radio transmitter internet to satellite internet. (Currently our internet signal is transmitted from a radio tower located on a backyard mountaintop to a receiver on our house.) We are hoping for stronger and more consistent connection with satellite internet because as much as I love living in the mountains… I also love the internet. We are currently finding wild Morel Mushrooms and are considering trying to grow them… so I am uber-interested to follow your mushroom growing journey. Yup… in addition to the internet, I love mushrooms!! We are plant-based and are getting our two gardens and the greenhouse ready for summer growing. Seeds have been started indoors. Everything looks so good! As far as shoes go I have really enjoyed boboux shoes. Podiatrist approved and give babies a wide toe box for their feet with a flexible sole so that they can feel the ground beneath their feet.

Couldn't you just put a flip out table/tray from the wall where max is sitting with Dana on the 14 minute mark so she can put it back against the wall and she can use the step as a seat and still see the baby either up in the or down on the floor. Or even out the window.
