When the bees are loaded and coming in for a landing they have to use there air brakes so they do not crash . 😂

We get down below 0 F for weeks at a time. We use sugar cakes to not have the water to dill with.

We rap are hives with tarpaper to help them keep warm. It makes a big difference. Are winter last from November to April even into May before dandelions start blooming.

The oz armour suits have interchangeable hoods as well and they're in your neck of the woods. Seem to be nice suits as I ordered one from the US. Enjoy your vids BTW.

Left my bee gear in the pick up with some frames. And a rat got in and eat a hole in my suit and gloves arrrr so I’m going to get a tool box’s for my gear Stay safe 👍👍👍👍

Hi BBM and john this is one reason why i am getting an over wintered nuc , being new to bee keeping if i had a nuc/swarm through winter i rekon i would probably lose them as i dont know enough , i pick my bees up in september from a registered breeder A.B.S. It just seems there is so much info on what to do and what not to do it does my head in and anyway if the bees dont want to play it doesnt matter what you do you can read a hundred books i cant count how many videos i have watched anyway everything is ready to go just need my bees take care .

Nice "Winter" inspection and interesting Tips ! Those noises when trying to stand up...are !!! VERY FAMILIAR !!! PAIN, PAIN, PAIN ! (Just a reminder that we are going older! ) I am a complete newcomer into a Beekeeping world. Just found 2 colonies in my backyard ... and thinking to put them into a proper Boxes ... What do you think , Please,. ...is it too late to cut them out from those old lounges, now ? They are there , living ... for almost a year... and there is planty of stuff there. Less experienced than Mark but..................I shut my hives down three weeks ago. I won't open them until the temperature gets above 16 degree C. I do like what he does though. Always entertaining

The gum tree looks like a viminalis (mallee gum) and flowers throughout the winter and spring. Also I would have placed the queen excluder on top of the blanket to discourage them from propalising the whole thing up. keep smiling bud.

It seems the the climate is shifting , its hotter in summer and winter is shorter, my girl’s work better after it rains, so I spray the trees with me hose when it doesn’t rain , I’m in my hives today, 👍

John strip out the magnet from a microwave and put it in your pocket,your hive tool can hang on the outside of your suit.

Do you cover the bottom of your paradise boxes? I'm a bit concerned that the vented bottoms of mine will let in to much cold air here in the A.C.T

Paradise bee boxes were designed for living in the snow. You don't need to cover the bottom. There is a video on youtube of a guy in canada with temperature probes inside the paradise boxes when they are literally buried in snow. They were fine.

He says it during the video, and it is written on his suit which is visible throughout. Don't be silly.

Okay okay, no need for nasty words mate, bit unnecessary. The suit is from BB Wear in the UK. I believe Mark had it shipped to him from them as a freebie to trial/showoff. They look pretty good, but are very very expensive.

I am new to this I have 5 hives I am only going to keep single 10 frames brood chambers and I was wondering if I should take honey away are leave it for winter they are producing a lot of honey I have two deep boxes that is 10 frame full of honey and also have two medium 10 frames that have honey in them the brood boxes is full of honey also so what do you think I live In the south

Remove any empty boxes, it makes there home warmer, I’m not a mentor by no means , that’s why I watch The bee man , it’s a shit season no mead ,
