You might like taping the sides of your canvas! A technique I've seen a lot is taping off half of the sides, so that only a small strip all around needs to be painted and the rest is gesso colored. Or you could tape over the sides entirely after you finish the underpainting so that the color matches the painting but without needing to paint it!

Friday night, I was rushing 2 more pieces for an art contest and when I tell you THE STRESS i felt when I realized it was 11:59 EST not PST. Along with that it was finals week and I had to do these sketchbook assignments (5 sketchbook 9x12 pieces) in one week (mostly bc I procrastinated) it was aaaaaaaaaaaaaa now I can relax and watch you go through the same things hahah
