After getting 4 hours of sleep, look into the life of Rocket prepping for her 4 day thruhike of the Laurel Highlands Hiking Trail Music from bensound.com My current pack setup: • My Current Backpacking...
Lol, I came here for the EE Torrid Pullover review and learned that there is a Laurel Highlands Trail. Can't believe I didn't know! I love the Laurel Highlands and have friends/family in the area that can help with shuttling. This trail is now on my radar. Thanks!
Love your videos. I just came back from a hike that I saw from your video. Just last week we/my mother and I hiked to Mt. Rogers at the Grayson Highlands. Thanks for posting. We had to go see it for ourselves. And loved every minute of it. 2 day hike

Looking forward to seeing the vids from this. I went out for first hike today in a while.... was awesome till i fell fully into a giant mud puddle :) the looks i got walking to my car were priceless
Great video Julia, beautiful farm too. The trip will be good for you. I love ramen. I don’t have a very good selection here so I go to Amazon. Through many trials and tribulations I like Koyo organic ramen and Lemonilo Naked Ramen. They boil up good and have great texture. As far as additions I use Portofino Yellow tail tuna, also available in pouches at Amazon. Freeze dried shiitakes and freeze dried broccoli are nutritious accompaniments. Add a dash of Furikake , soy sauce, and sriracha to taste. I also pack in chop sticks for flare. Pretty damn tasty! Best!
LOL We used to White Water Raft the Youghiogheny River and camped in Ohiopyle! I'll be on the AT in March eating the same crap that you do but I eat everything. John from MI
Great video. Never heard of that pee rag name. Will deffiently tell my girl about this product. Awesome to see your a nutrybuddy gal those things are amazing. You forgot a powerboat or 2. Try the clifbar peanutbutter their great and give you energy. Also never seen a better train wreck. .
There should be a humanitarian aid organizations for long distance hikers. Lady Rocket would be on their VIP list, they would fly in acceptable food as soon as they detect movement on her Garmin or whatever she uses, to prevent food accidents like the one in this video. Seriously: This is what you can get in trail towns and I think it is a huge factor in people quitting their hikes. If you are no longer 22 years old, food along the trails is a problem.
I have been wanting to do the Laurel Highlands trail for like 5 years since I moved to where I live 45 minutes from there. Haven't had a week to do it, and there is the shuttle issue to do weekends. It was too stinking hot this summer and I have done "regular camping" since it cooled off. Once the state parks are closed down I want to do some of the LHHT on weekends. Anyone want to do sections of it together?
StudioBlackwater is right. Dollar stores have all the hiking food at a great price. I disagree with any negative remarks about dollar stores. The bunch that I go to are organized and clean. And... the dollar stores were the only places that had regular resupplies and their few, hard working employees knew exactly when the next truck would arrive when everyone else was freaking out at the start of covid in the uppity stores, whose workers were ignorant of their own job (the supply system). Dollar stores rock.
Stupid question most likely, but on a thru what does everyone do to wash merino stuff? I had some 150 weight merino base layers that got destroyed by a washing machine with an agitator in the center. Maybe that's what killed them? But it was an expensive oops if so. If you're out on trail already, stay safe and dry.
Im super nervous for my food when I get on my first backpacking trip bc I cant eat gluten and most of the foods I see people pack are super gluten heavy lol. But I found some gluten free ramen packs and those tunas will be perfect ✍✍✍
Rocket - what would you say to an effort for the creation of a 450 mile hiking (bike/hike?) trail from WTC, NYC, NY to Pentagon, VA/DC to Shanksville, PA?
Enjoyed the video and glad you are hiking, but I must say I am losing faith in your abilities as a ventriloquist. I'm sure I saw your mouth move a couple of times, there. 😁
Ok, I can understand it's very difficult to eat healthy on a hike. For your next video, how about you showing your audience "how to hike 5 days while eating extremely healthy". You can do it Rocket !!!!
Julia Sheehan 1 per day .. lol .. No Seriously, Do a video were you prepare healthy meals for 5 days and take on trip. I followed this one vegan on the AT a few years ago and she made/took all healthy food.
