This is a great walk through. I am so excited to participate in Nano but My only goal is to write daily. I am not going to push myself on number of words but it will be fun to use the trackers and see how much I can get done. Thank you for this workbook 😃
This was so helpful thank you! I just signed up for your mailing list. This will be my first year doing NaNo. I'm writing a queer romantic thriller. I'm going to aim for 25K because with chronic health issues I don't want to push myself too hard and make myself sicker. I want this to add joy to my life.
I haven't done NaNo since my kids were born--and my oldest is almost 13!! I'm excited to try again this year....and, I think, I'm going to do something different and try my hand at a horror YA! Sarra, you seriously inspire me to no end. I just finished HB90 Bootcamp and, honestly, I haven't loved writing this much in a LONG time!!
I am so excited for this years Nano! Past years I've talked myself out of being a part of it, feeling I wasn't good enough. Like so many others I just want to write daily. I love the story I'm writing and I really want to finish it. Thanks Sarra for all you do, we are so blessed to have you !!
I told someone about your web sight and Facebook page that I am mentoring this November. She’s never done Nanowrimo before. We both are writing a cozy mystery. Hers is a diy handywoman sleuth. Mine is a butler sleuth, with the working title “The Butler Didn’t Do It”
What an inspirational video! Thank you for the resource library! This will be my first time participating in nanowrimo, and I'm so glad I found your channel. You earned a new subscriber :)
This will be the second time that I will be doing NaNo. The last time was back in 2017. I came close to finishing but life happened, lol. The only reason why I am doing NaNo this year is that I have the time. However, it will certainly be challenging for me as I am overcoming some things concerning my health. Brain fog and loss of cognition have been challenging thus far as an author. I'm okay if I don't win NaNo, but I will definitely make a huge effort in trying. I'm getting excited about it, and you are such a blessing to share all your tips and tools that you use to prepare. I've been following you for a few years now and love your content. It's very inspiring and certainly motivates me to write more. Thank you for all that you do in helping authors like myself. Wishing everyone much success in winning NaNoWriMo. ❤
Absolutely a nano cheerleader this year too - I’m working on balance this quarter so I’m crazy excited about the Preptober & nano energy but will be limiting my actual writing. I think Nano needs official nano cheer team mercy😂🎉🤸♀️
This year is my second NaNo and this workbook will really help. Last year was when I decided to get back to writing. This November I will be drafting the 2nd book on my Historical Paranormal series
Brilliant walk through! I especially love the Emergency Motivation page. I've already added my favorite Buffy, Veronica Mars, and early Grey's Anatomy eps. Now I'm going to add some books and movies. Thank you for another fantastic resource!
I've been watching you for years and I'm not even a writer😂 However, watching you this morning I feel like you have a system for every single thing in your business. That is remarkable! No wonder you're successful. I wish you continued success
This video and your other Preptober videos have been so helpful with my Nano prep. This is my first time writing a novel instead of editing a novel. Thank you for all your hard work and for providing us with resources.
Thank you!❤❤❤ I am so excited to get going this year. I’ve struggled the last few years, but I’m ready to go this time and a huge part of that has been your inspiration!
I haven't (yet) read any of your books and I haven't (yet) taken the HB90 or other programs... but I have to say that I LOVE the Nano Math pages. That, alone, makes the writing challenge seem so much more measurable and it shows me how to break down my writing sessions. I am a chronic procrastinator if I feel I have the leeway so knowing how many sprints I have to do will be much better for my head so that I don't put things off when I write like the wind in the first week and then fall behind, get frustrated or succumb to negative self-talk. Thanks a lot Sarra for sharing your strategy (and time) so generously.
Great resource! It's so motivating I almost want to plot a new story in October and write like mad in November. Almost. But I do have a plan for myself, which is to work on implementing my new ideas based on beta reader feedback for the novel I wrote last year for NaNoWriMo. It was my first NaNoWriMo last year and I even won.
Love the aesthetic in this video!! And can't wait to use the planner; I've been feeling so much less organized lately, and this is sure to help me onto my feet. Much appreciated as always.
Than you for the walk through. I've won nano the past 3 year and I never sat myself down to figure out how many hours I need and now I know (since I'm a slow writer).
Great walkthrough! I got my Preptober planner printed and started working on it after watching this. Also did a couple sprints. This will be my first Nano. I'm super excited.
I was on the fence about doing NaNo this year because I never seem to make any solid progress with my writings. But after watching this video I feel like I might actually FEEL like I've made progress.
Sarra, another hearties: HELP!!!!! I've tried so many times to print your resources to fit one of my classic Happy Planners and I've wasted countless papers. I even watched videos on RU-vid on how to get this to work and I've been unsuccessful. At this point, I feel very silly about not being able to figure this out. :( Last but not least, you outdid yourself with this new version of the preptober resource. Thank you for your dedication to this community.
I love your videos. This is my furst Nanorumo. I look forward to this. Thank for your prep. It'll save me a lot of confusion. I'm working on a Ya fantasy about a cursed kingdom.
I love this planner!! And you nearly gave me a heart attack when your paper was right next to the flame. I was yelling at the screen LOL Also, bold of you to assume I'm only going to snack once per day :P
Writing a kids fantasy novel for my students to have fun with (they encourage the chaos!) and, hopefully egg me on to finish. Unfortunately, I might have to take a week off as I might be doing a road trip, but, as I'm writing by hand (I type very slow...), I just need to keep everything in a paper notebook. Thank you for your planner! It is very well thought out. I hope my jaunt into the faye realm reaches the goal within the month.
I'm excited for the life planning video. this is my first year having a retail job so my hours aren't consistent. Part of my planning will be talking with my manager. Writing is more important than some job lol.
I have downloaded and worked on this lovely planner. As a first time NaNoWriMo and very first time writing a novel I have a quick question. I did the sprints to get a feel of how many words I write. However, I am not sure how to have the word "only" count without the spaces. I work on a Mac. Is there a way of setting this on a Mac or, is the word count supposed to include spacing like a regular typing test (for those who had to take them while learning to type in school)?
For this year my goal is to finish the first draft of my story. No matter how many words. I have my rough draft with my chapter list and will be able to measure success based on finished chapters.
I'm "sort of" aiming for 50K, but my main plan for NaNo is to just get as much done as I reasonably can. I think I need to find a way to reward myself still, I have a hard time with this honestly!
Hi Sarra! My genre is fantasy/scifi. I won NANOWRIMO 2019. At that time I wrote the 2nd book to my tiny series. It was so rewarding! Because life happens, I'm trying to do 1st edits to that manuscript and the first one. I'm looking forward to connecting with other writers this time! My question is can I edit both manuscripts during NANOWRIMO?😀
Hey Cynthia! You can really do anything you want and just decide how you're going to count the edits. New words only? All words edited? Just make a rule for yourself and stick to it!
I really liked this walk through. I am going to try to utilize a hand writing to text app for Nano. I have better flow with pen and can just carry a note book with me.
@@HeartBreathings The app I use is Pen to Print. It has worked well for me so far. It allows you to edit and clean up text line by line or as a whole. Then imports to you app of choice. Can’t wait for more preprober vids😊
This was not live! I'll only be doing one live at the very end of the month. I shared the schedule for the preptober videos in my first video on Thursday but I'll also be posting it to the community tab later this week.
Thanks for the walk through! I am in the middle of a WIP, so this has also helped me plan my writing schedule for the rest of October. I will be in great shape for NaNo~
I always get so much more motivated for NaNo when I watch your videos! Thank you :) Many of these I dear I will definitely do myself this year. I'm starting my third novel this year. It's a YA Paranormal. Wishing you and everyone in your community a wonderful Preptober and I'm cheering you on for NaNo. Let's do this!!!! Sending love and creative vibes
I’m not technically participating in NANOWRIMO but do have a couple of book ideas kicking around in my head so I’m going to use the planner to get something in the works for those. As always thank you for all of your hard work for your hearties❤️
haha - I printed out your Preptober book last year and at the time we were living with my in-laws for a few months. I put the Do Not Disturb sign up but the mom-in-love did not take it to heart! The interruptions were constant! 🤣😂 Thank you Sarra for another great video, and I love the new updates!!
If you're on my newsletter, you should have received a link to the resource library. It's just called Preptober_Planner2022. If you aren't on my newsletter, there's a link of where to join in the description box. If you still can't find it, email me sarra@heartbreathings.com
This is great walk through. Love it. This is my first NaNo. I write Young Adult Supernatural/fantasy. I'm off to print out the workbook. Thanks So much, Sarra 🐾
Love it as always Sarra. I am taking a break from writing my main series and will be working on a new shiny project this nano. ✨️ I'm so excited for it. I've written 3 and published 2 books in my main series so the break is definitely needed!
