i used to struggle with understanding pathophysiology, mainly bc our lecture pdfs and diaporamas either scratch things on surface level only or they contain nothing but a bunch of incomprehensible schematic "explanations", but your videos LITERALLY saved me! they’re just so smooth and easily understood and they cover pretty much everything that is important and needed. osmosis i owe you so much hshsjsk love you ❤️

Really appreciate your video. I have a quick question at the end though. If water, sodium, and urea are all reabsorbed based on the aldosterone system, the urine should have less urea as well. However, you said it will stink more. Is it just because the amount of water loss in urine is significant that the urea odor peaks out?

I have a question, does the renin-angiotensin aldosterone also get stimulated in post renal disease? since there would also be less blood filtration in post renal failure?
@yugantkhand9754

Around 1:39 you have mentioned that Creatinine is reabsorbed, please could you confirm that. Creatinine is completely filtered and excreted and only some portion is secreted (thus helping us to measure GFR). Could you clarify this. Thanks

It essentially means that the kidneys aren’t getting enough blood so they can’t work properly. The cause depends on your specific case.
