this was one of the first presa channels I sub'd to.. I'm happy to say, I've had my 12 week old Male Presa, Apollo for 2 weeks now. I'm not going to lie and say it was easy. You have to train them and keep being consistent at it. These dogs are full of energy, so be prepared. LOL
@@robbarker450 how was your experience with sanders kennel? I plan on getting a presa when I finish my enlistment of the AF I didn’t realize how much $ these beautiful companions are
Wow he's looking great. We just got one he's a little over 3 months and he is huge already. Thank u for ur insight on this magnificent dog! Congrats on ur 1,000 subs🎉
Train, train, train!!! These dogs are crazy dominant by nature. Did you get a male or female? My girl will be a year in July. I've had Bullmastiffs and Cane Corso before and this dog is something else!
Commander looks really good. Congrats! If someone wants a traditional name from the Canary Islands for your puppies just ask. Greetings from the Canary Islands :)
Commander is extremely dominant! He wants to conquer everything! He was good with our other male dog, but he was here first, and because he was old he didn't really want to play. Thanks for watching in Norway!!
Hi - I’ve been following Commander and your lovely family for awhile now. Have been a long time dog owner and got my first Presa, female puppy, a week ago. Beautiful girl, socializing going well and training this genius is a breeze. I got her for travel companion and pet. Have had a very reactive, traumatized rescue where everyone was a threat and with many hours of training worked her out of that-but bites happened. Really don’t want that with a Presa. Was advised to muzzle train her for public. Have you had reactivity situations with Commander? Is his reactivity a concern for you in public? You’ve had him since a baby and he’s your first Presa too, correct? Would really appreciate yours, and others, input. BYW, he’s growing into a magnificent creature.
Hi Cheryl! Very sorry for responding so late but first congrats on your first Presa! The journey begins! As a puppy Commander was very reactive. He has since grown out of it. We have also been suggested to muzzle in certain situations. It hasn't been something we have tried yet. Commander has not been out in public for a while. I think you may have inspired a video idea. We can see how he does out in public at 16 months. Thanks for watching!
Also sudden directional changes will have him looking to you for what is coming next..the prong is not effective when they r already pulling .you want to be able to snap/flick as u change direction..
Hey looking great. Out of curiosity is he still pretty relaxed out in public and around other dogs? I know males have a tendency to become dog aggressive as they mature.
He doesn't seem as impulsive around other dogs as he use to. He hasn't played with another dog in months.... unfortunately. We went through a long period were we couldn't find him a playmate. We are trying to coordinate something in the near future. Maybe a second Presa... who knows?
I think you will find the bitches are more aggressive/protective.. whether out in public, or defending their territory.. be it the car or home, or the owner.
I have an 8 month female and she is super protective when we’re walking, but doesn’t care when we’re at the dog park. Except she has some toy and resource guarding going on 🤦🏽♀️
RESPECT…body language is the key . You have to be able to read your dog.much easier to control them before they engage..the number one priority is to satisfy their every need .then with training and direction u will have a well behaved dog.get yourself a safety clip.it attaches leash to prong and flat collar. Prong collars can come apart usually at the worst moment and the safety clip will still have u attached. Yes yes yes always the humans fault.. good job u have grow as well as commander.. he is lucky to have you
