A present simple and present continuous quiz to check your grammar and your English conversation skills!
When should we use present simple and present continuous in English?
Present simple is used for actions that are regular (I eat breakfast every day).
Present simple is also used for facts that are generally true (He likes pizza).
Present continuous is used for actions that are happening RIGHT NOW (They are speaking English).
Remember, these rules are the same for questions using present simple and present continuous in English! (Do you eat breakfast every day? Does he like pizza? What language are they speaking?)
Take our Present Simple vs Present continuous grammar tenses quiz, and see how well you know your English Grammar! Good luck!

Write your own fill-in-the-blank sentence or question below with two answers (1x present simple, 1x present continuous), then have some fun answering each others questions! Can you answer correctly?🤔😀

It seems to me that it would be correct to say I play the quitar (with article „the”)

Hi, it is correct to say it with or without the article. Thanks! ❤️

May I ask why I can't say "I think I'm having cold" at 0:18?

Hi, great question! It's because the verb "have" in this sentence is a stative verb, not an action verb. That means it describes how something is, not something that is happening, just like "I have a car." You can use "having" for action, like "I'm having fun." We hope that helps!

merci beaucoup, je souhaiterais savoir pourquoi dit-on “want to go for a walk” au lieu de “do you want to go for a walk” ?

Hi, great question! In informal questions, it is not necessary to use "do you" when the context is obvious. In this informal situation, you can omit the auxiliary verb (do, have, be) + you. For example, "Have you got a pen?" = "Got a pen?" "Are you hungry?" = "Hungry?" We hope that helps!

No entiendo cual es el presente continuo y el simple
@EnglishPandaLessons
@EnglishPandaLessons 8 месяцев назад
No problem! Present simple is for actions that are regular (I go to school every day) or always (I have a cat). Present continuous is for actions right now, at this moment. (I am writing this comment right now). We hope that helps! Check out our other videos for examples: Present simple: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-kePBvNotYy4.htmlsi=dSuWx5MGtZ8Qxic9 Present continuous: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE--JYdkTlIVpw.htmlsi=Ze5yx86z8Va2-wL8 *** ¡Ningún problema! El presente simple es para acciones que son regulares (voy a la escuela todos los días) o siempre (tengo un gato). El presente continuo es para acciones ahora mismo, en este momento. (Estoy escribiendo este comentario ahora mismo). ¡Esperamos que eso ayude! Mira nuestros otros videos para ver ejemplos.
