Not all Chechens are muslims like me , and more and more people understand that islam is not Truth. unfortunately my nation is extremely under islamic influence, looking at chechnya before the 1994 war chechens was like any european, but we are actually pure europeans. There is a fact, in Dagestan there is a mosque which is 800 years old and in Chechnya (it is the next door) you will not see a single mosque which is more than 200 years old, do you understand what that means? Formerly the Chechens were the most numerous nation in the region before enemies from all sides invaded us. To give you an example in the last 350 years we have suffered 5 genocides of which 4 were almost fatal, in the 17th century only 20% of the population remained, in the 19th century 40%, during the two wars 70%. If there hadn't been all these wars the Chechens would probably be around 80-90 million and would dominate all of Russia. The Chechens are the only nation in the world to have never tried to invade their neighbour. There are so many things that nobody knows about and take us for ISIS extremists and I understand because there is a cause for that! I hope with all my heart that my nation will return to its sources, we had a belief before Islam, Christianity and Judaism, our God is called DELA (The Almighty Creator of all things) our culture is very similar to education of the 3 monoteistic religion (not Arabic) this means that this culture was part of a religion or belief. The Russians have worked hard for 350 years so that we forget our history, killed anyone who could transmit our religion, our knowledge, story, history etc ... moreover the only language in the world that can be translated into Sumerian is Chechnya says a lot. In short I know that Islam is a passage it will disappear as it appeared, today many have understood that Muhammad was not a prophet and Islam is not a religion but a mess of Judaism and Christianity with mixing tradition and the beliefs of the Arabs before. Back then west naively thought that Russia could change and Chechens were branded as evil. @@Yaennn000 he is right, chechens have a bad image especially in the west because we largely didnt see russians actions day to day but we were flooded with what happened in Grozny and the execution videos of russian conscripts. Its actually a really good case against doing things like that because most people are uninformed but know of that incident. Well Nixon was predicting same kind of thing, not necessarily the conflict in Ukraine but he had studied Russian history and he knew Russia could fell back to despotism mixed with Russian imperialism because Russia had always been plagued by it. Dudayev meanwhile was officer in the Red Army, he was born and raised in Soviet Union so he had very good insight also about Russian politics and where things were heading. Unfortunately western leaders didnt pay enough attention to these warnings but naively believed that economic relationships to west would keep Russians civil and peaceful even if democracy there would fail

Not a prophet. He simply knew how Russian would act, atleast those in power. He knew and understood that because he had been Red Army officer himself before USSR fell apart. And when Russia decided to level Grozny, rather than give Chechnya its independence, it only confirmed to Dudayev that Russia would just continue in its imperialistic ambitions if it wasnt stopped. Because of they couldnt let go of Checnya that had very much different culture and ethnic group of ppl than Belarus or Ukraine , then how could Russia let go of those two countries. He simply understood that as long as Russism exists which had imperalistic aims/goals, then it was only matter of time before Russia would one way or another to take over Belarus and Ukraine.
