President Franklin Roosevelt Defends his dog FALA (1944, Newsreel) 

FILM Archives reaches back to the Presidential Campaign of 1944. At a speech to the Teamsters, President Roosevelt called out his GOP critics for sending the Navy to pick up his Scottish Terrier Fala when he was left behind after FDR visited Alaska. The classic FALA speech is followed by images of the First Dog. He's a cutie.
