Maybe you can help me understand this, because it definitely gave me pause when Biden was speaking about it. I am left-leaning and I do support creating more jobs for our people, obviously, but I was raised to understand that factory jobs are low-skill labor and often would lead to chronic issues in older age (due to standing all day, moving heavy objects, etc.) and, in some industries more than others, would come with a significantly higher chance of death on the job as compared to an office job. I was told the pay wasn't great but it was enough. I can understand the appeal from a politician's perspective of having everything built in-house (in America, so we're less reliant on other countries who may or may not cut ties with us in the future), but what's the incentive on the workers' ends? Biden is speaking about 3% record unemployment and at the same time saying he wants to bring back factory work? Again, as I was raised, this is not a cut above other jobs - it's a step down. Are things really that bad out in more rural areas that even a factory job is more enticing than other alternatives, or am I missing something about factory work? Are there unique benefits or pensions that you can't get access to working other jobs? Will these new factory jobs have unions from the jump? I just can't wrap my head around why it's a good thing to bring manufacturing back to the US. We exported it to poorer nations because they'd do it for cheaper and because most Americans simply don't care about the standard of living or wellbeing of foreign people, especially those in underdeveloped nations. Why do we want to bring that back here? In theory, it should lead to more expensive goods due to higher overhead for companies because now they have to pay American workers instead of foreign workers willing to work for pennies on the dollar. Genuinely confused if somebody could clarify.

Term limits dont' fix anything, if anything it makes people in office MORE susceptible to external influences. It also means if you get a good politician in there he also has to abid by the therm limits and you have to find someone also good to replace them, its better to leave the good ones in as long as you can and vote the bad ones out... A way to fix thise would be instant run offs, incumbets are automatically bypass primaries (so newcomers can get attention), setup that way an incumbent has to stay competitive with both opposing party as well as thier own......

Every time a senior citizen gets an increase on their social security their rent is increased. Regardless if it's the housing authority Or at a senior center, The rent goes up so they don't get the extra money. The majority of senior citizens live way, way below the poverty level.
