Great video. I was going to buy this radio from Smokin Joes electronics and have Mike do the mods for me. But when I went on his facebook page. I found out that he passed away in March. I was very sad to hear that. He was a smart and talented guy. Too young to go. My condolences to his wife and family. RIP Mike.
"tot" = "time out timer" which stops transmit upon the setting thereof, unless you completely shut it off. It's mostly used for the "10 meter repeaters" so as not to transmit too long and "time out" the repeater - which are usually "FM". I came here for the "audio" demonstration(s) and the "echo" ! I plan on buying one soon, but I'm not going to say from "who" or "where" here.
I have two of them. Best raduio for the buck. It made me get my Ham ticket. If you are looking for a radio like this? Thenjust buy one. You will love it 100%.
I have the same radio. I have the same issue with the meter. I don't think there is an adjustment inside the radio. I think there has to be an adjustment in the hidden menu.

My dad has bought one of these but we can;t get to to go to the 27mhz chennels when we ttry and get there goes from 28 29 and 24 mhz any idea what we doing wrong

You seem to be an asshole. @Andrew Hamilton, you need to modify the radio in order to be able to have the 27mhz channels. Watch other videos about Lincoln modifications. It is easy, just a matter of soldering in a 1k ohm resistor, and a little change in the menu.
I have this radio and it’s a 5 pin how did you get the 4 pin mic to fit there? Also how do you adjust the tx meter when you talk? I can only get mine to go to two or three bars. Thanks.
I also have this radio, it is a 6 pin, and he is using a 6 pin to 4 pin adapter. For the meter, mine keys to 7 on AM high power and goes to max when modulated. The service manual, provided by President Electronics, does not list an adjustment point in the alignment procedure; however indicates the meter should read 7 +/- 1 bar without modulation. Hope this is helpful. Note the adapter for the 6 pin President radios is not the same as for the 6 pin RCI radios.
Brian Spencer I ment to say 6 pin. Yeah I know that I read the pin diagram in the radio. Only reason I ask is I want to try a friends power mic on it that’s a 4 pin. I know there’s no adjustment list in the manual which is frustrating cause you can do that to a lot of other radios. I’ve tuned my radio and put out ok but it still reads barely anything on the TX bar meter when you PTT. Which is concerning cause I think I’m not putting out much or anything when I know others can hear me.
I can get out and people hear me fine but like I said I just don’t know why the meter on the radio doesn’t go up. I probably would have to get it looked at but I have a good slug on a meter that I used for my match and stuff.
I sell mic adaptors so you can run whatever mic you want. As far as the bargraph meter. Sometimes they are not set correctly from the factory. I calibrate all functions when I perform alignments on both new and used radios
I don’t think so! The 667 is a low drive device. Why would use a low drive amp like a 667 and pair it with a high output radio? Makes no sense. And you are asking for trouble. The McKinley is a far better radio. President needs to make some changes to this radio. It’s very narrow banded transmit audio needs to be addressed!
Ham radios ARE narrow band receivers and transmitters. That's what this is, and that's what you're buying. You're asking for the company to make a ham radio into a splashbox... Dumbest comment on the internet.
