I once saw Air Force One when I lived there in Boise. I used to live across the freeway from the airport and it was quite an experience to see. This was back when Bush was in office (around 2007). I remember seeing jets escorting the aircraft that time and helicopters were standing by. The whole airport was temporarily shut down for the president's arrival. My grade school was right by the airport and I recall my teacher telling us about it and we all watched on the playground. I'll never forget that memory.
Great reporting from Chris Oswald and Roland in the TV studio. Mayor Bieter's a good-looking, good-natured-seeming guy!! GO BOISE!! Anybody else watching Obama vids Spring 2020?
Usually airspace is cleared by Air Traffic Control, so these helicopters were close so that any attacks by other airplanes can be recognized and dealt with.
They have drones that fly over the president in the sky and when he/she is on land. No one and I mean no one can get close enough with the amount of security the US government has on that place and the President.
"What? Roosevelt used 747 in 1933?" "Air Force One" isn't a plane, it's a radio call-sign for ANY Air Force plane when the president is aboard. FDR was the first sitting president to fly in an Air Force aircraft. However the reporter isn't accurate in his reporting: the "Air Force One" call-sign wasn't used until 1953, after there was an air traffic control conflict when Ike's plane and a commercial flight using a similar call-sign were in the same airspace at the same time.
I the US doesn't want another big loss, one would advise they have a thoroughlised assassin or "terrorist" expert analyse the integrity of their presidential security system n it won't be long for them to see the many critical gaps n weaknesses
The problem with Americans is that they develop systems n teams n equipment from their perspective n that's why anything made by them has numerous weaknesses. If u r developing a system to protect Ur president u do look at its integrity from Ur point of view. Rather u view it in terms of the dangers u want to protect against but unfortunately even when they r doing that, the US never allows the danger to speak to them to inform their Innovation. That's why the US only gets it more right when their Innovation fail n now they can study what they didn't do but needed to n make changes. U don't hear of such errors with Israel or Russia bcoz their systems r not built from the perspective of someone wanting to offer security. Rather they r built from the perspective of someone wanting to destroy the system n harm which means gathering intelligence n analysing scenarios from unconventional perspectives.
Both the president's plane n his car have one critical weakness that can be an easy weakness that I hope his security is aware of. In the event of an attack I won't advise shielding him in either. If they can find a way of smuggling him via another armoured vehicle the better bcoz the attacker wud obviously be targeting either his car or plane as the case might be, n if they exploit this critical weakness both have, it wud b easy to get to the president from a far.
so there you are making sure you're safe, I'm not seeing you offer a shot of cognac or tequila, or to share your leftovers, with the people you are serving in their best interest. you obviously don't trust those in charge of your life, since you have a private doctor.
