These two had a probably the best working relationship and friendship of any President and Vice President. Reagan insisted they have lunch together once a week to go over issues in the event Bush needed to assume responsibilities. Reagan wanted Bush in the loop at all times and said when he was elected they would have a true partnership and a true friendship. We've had nothing like this since.
I'm sure Bush was one of the ultimate insiders but when Iran Contra blew up then he said he had been conveniently "out of the loop" regarding that whole shitstorm. I'm sure he knew what the hell was going on, just had to lie about that shit to get elected in '88.
You mean back when the president and vice president were aristocratic white men, regardless which party had the White House. Well, forget about those days. Gone forever!
@@jackpow2004Lmfao you act like Joe Biden isn't exactly that 🤣 What fucking planet are you people on. Oh you people are so fucked 🤣 The presidency hasn't had honor since JFK but you people aren't intelligent enough to figure that out. Not my problem though
RIP Both President Reagan and President Bush 41. Each time when watching their videos, always feel warm and hopes for America’s future greatness , strength and Americans’ happiness altogether. RIP.
BULL! In reality, Reagan didn't like Bush. He thought of him as an opportunist and what we would call today a 'member of the swamp.' In all Reagan's 8 years in the White House, they never had the Bushes over ONCE for dinner. Outside of a state dinner of course where protocol dictated the vice president had to be there.
@@retroguy9494 If Reagan hadn’t like Bush, he never would invite him for VP. They had lunch together every single Thursday. Sometimes at the Oval Office and sometimes at the VP office.
@@nilsonjunior9551 Oh wow you REALLY don't know the way it works, do you? Reagan was fully backed by the party when he ran in '80. Specifically, some VERY wealthy people in the party. Therefore, Reagan had to take orders. In fact, even when Reagan ran for governor of California Nancy insisted of party heavies that they support them in the lifestyle they were accustomed to as Hollywood stars. Bush had wanted to be president and he was very wealthy in his own right and knew some of these wealthy men. Reagan was TOLD to make Bush his running mate. And yes, they had lunch once a week. To discuss BUSINESS. It was never a social occasion.
@@retroguy9494 we here at the US Government can confirm. The wives didn't get along for some reason. I think the men did but they didn't want to have their wives upset at them.
@@Brad02526 Well, that's probably because you kids all use your laptops or phones! LOL I'm still ten times faster on a calculator or adding machine than I am a computer! When I was about 8, my aunt and uncle gave me one of the very first hand held calculators. Before LED technology. It has these red lights that light up the numbers. Talk about quality! I still have it and it still works!
30 years ago the marvel at the size of a calculator. 30 years later I have a magic device that has a calculator and a phone and 1000 songs, oh and i can also access the worlds info in a matter of seconds.
Haha that’s what we said about cell phones in 1999- 2000 when they went from the giant brick Motorola to the small black flip phone. Then again when smart phones got smaller in 2005-2008
@@shahrulamar5358 Are you talking about BOTH Bushes? Because I will be the first one to say we had no business invading Iraq (which the son did) because our problem was with Bin Laden and the UN inspectors said there were no WMD's. But I was talking about the father.
@@retroguy9494 Bush initiated economic sanction against Iraq which continued after he left office. Contributed to death of hundred thousands or millions women, children and elder citizens for more than a decade. 😟😟😟
@@shahrulamar5358 The economic sanctions I am aware of, yes. But how did he contribute to the deaths of all those people? The old man I mean, not the son of course.
