Fulfilling the Administration's promise that no one will be left behind in the provision of aid amid the effects of El Niño crisis, President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. returns to Butuan City to personally extend various assistance to farmers, fisherfolk and families in a program at the Butuan City Sports Complex in Barangay Libertad on 20 June 2024.
The President leads the turnover of farm machineries and equipment to the beneficiaries of various agencies, namely the Department of Agriculture (DA) - Region XIII, Philippine Center for Postharvest Development and Mechanization (PhilMech), Philippine Fiber Industry Development Authority (PhilFIDA), Philippine Coconut Authority (PCA), Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR), Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), and Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA).
He also distributes Presidential assistance amounting to PhP10,000 each to select beneficiaries from Butuan City (10 recipients), Province of Agusan del Norte (10 recipients), Province of Surigao del Norte (10 recipients) and Province of Dinagat Islands (10 recipients). On top of these, he hands over monetary support to the City Government of Butuan and the Provincial Governments of Agusan del Norte, Surigao del Norte and Dinagat Islands.
Other agencies present to provide additional assistance include the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) and the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) for its TUPAD (Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged/Displaced Workers Program) and Integrated Livelihood Program beneficiaries, as well as the Office of House Speaker Ferdinand Martin Romualdez for five (5) kilos of rice to each event attendee.
