Press Conference: Australian Ariarne Titmus DEFEATS American Katie Ledecky to STEAL the Gold Medal 

I'm a proud Aussie but I have to say Katie is a class act. She looked genuinely happy for Ariane's win after the race. She won me over with her attitude.

She is so classy and well-spoken. Not an easy press conference after a tough loss.. but she has nothing to feel bad about. Fought hard and so did Titmus. Next time!!

The US media are brutal - i feel sorry for Katie ledecky. I think the Australian media learned a little bit after the way they treated our swimmers after 2012

Titmus didn't "steal" the gold. She worked hard and EARNED it.

"Steal the gold medal"... Sums up America's poor attitude and sportsmanship this Olympics quite well.

And Lilly King said that "An American woman is going to win Gold in every single individual event in Tokyo" wow that statement aged like milk so quick.

Wow those questions kind of brutal and for Katie to go through that and be ready for the next race. Even Ariarme seemed uncomfortable at 7:20

Ah the new Ronald and Messi’s of swimming debate starts now. For an eternity😑😂. In all honesty though why do we need to put them against each other. Why not just celebrate living in a time where we are lucky enough to have 2 such legendary athletes who will be remembered for the rest of their lives. And I can tell u they’ll both probably prefer racing each other knowing how good they both are as it will give them that extra grit and competitiveness walking into a race and that extra level of competition. I’m just happy I get to live when 2 of the best female middle distance swimmers are living side by side from each other.

How did she ‘steal’ the win. She won fair and square, and Titus was the World Champ having beaten Ledecky in the same race at the last World Championships. Ledecky’s response to question ‘has anyone ever beaten you because they were better than you’ was poor sportsmanship. Clearly Titmus is better than her at 400m having beaten her at both the world champs and Olympics.

For those commenting on Titmus's win against Ledecky at the world's, if you saw Ariarne's press interview after the race, Boxall was in the back of the room mouthing "dogshit" to Arnie so she wouldn't get caught up in the euphoria of the win because Ledecky swam while ill and was a tad under 2 seconds off her normal time. Arnie says they have only 2 standards, great and dogshit.

To the question at 3:50 ... probably the last time she raced a 400 against Titmus. The World Championship about 12 months before the Olympics was an almost carbon copy of the Tokyo 400 - except Ariarne was in the lane on the opposite side to Kate.

Because of COVID-19 and the way it was dealt with by Australia and the U.S. Australian athletes were better prepared than the American athletes, especially the swimmers! They couldn't train properly!

Katie Ledecky is the Litmus test of female swimming greatness. She doesn't have to pass the Titmus test to be a great swimmer and more importantly a great person.

Katie, NEVER used to congratulate other competitors, this has only been a recent phemnomena, basically she has been ungrateful in the past.
