The Ireland forwards sat down with the media on Tuesday to look ahead to the final Bank of Ireland Nations Series game against the Wallabies. #TeamOfUs #IrishRugby
Please, for the love of christ, can we get a mic (with volume) for the journalist's questions? Terrible listening to players and coaching rambling with no context
To win a world cup you need strength in depth in every position- ideally 3+ players per position of a similar quality to choose from. Ireland are as good as NZ, SA or France but they don't have the depth those sides have and I feel that will be their downfall again at the next WC. 1. Porter/Healy/? 2. Sheehan/Kelleher/Herring 3. Furlong/Bealham/? 4. Beirne/Treadwell/' 5. Ryan/Henderson/? 6. POM/? 7. VDF/Timoney/? 8. Doris/Conan/Deegan? 9. JGP/Murray/Casey? 10. Sexton/Carbery/Frawley, Crowley? 11. Hansen/Earls 12. Henshaw/McCloskey/Aki/Hume 13, Ringrose/Hume 14. Lowe/Balacoune/Conway 15. Keenan/ Lamour?, O'Brien? As with every world cup, some of the above players won't be available due to injury and others will be lost to injury during the wc. I'm sure I'm missing a few players but I don't think Ireland possess the player depth/quality required to go all the way.
@@dairet1945 I beg to differ. NZ 15s totally outclassed IRE A recently, almost put 50 pts on them. There's a reason there are 3 kiwis playing for Ireland. SA have far more strength in depth than Ireland do. It's not even close. You're right SA don't tend to perform as well without Pollard but I'd argue Sexton is an even bigger loss for Ireland.
@@PB22559 Oh but Munsters B team thrashing SA A team doesnt count but NZ A beating Ireland A does? Hmmm. The A team games are fairly meaningless as they are scratch sides. The Ireland A team was more of a experimental side that an A side anyway. There were no Kiwis starting for Ireland when they beat SA, kind of shreads that silly argument. There were 10 overseas born residency qualified players in NZs squad for the summer series. More than in Irelands squad. What does that tell you? You have also missed a lot of players for example: Will Connors 7 Rhys Ruddock 6 Ryan Baird, Ross Moloney lock Ross Byrne, Harry Byrne, Billy Burns 10 John Cooney, Jack McGrath 9
@@dairet1945 Munster play together all the time. The SA A side don't. That's the difference. NZ 15s and Ire A is a better comparison. Who's Jack McGrath? I think you mean Luke McGrath. Cooney and Ruddock are decent. Baird has potential. The others you mention aren't at the required standard.
@@PB22559 Jack McGrath is a prop, yes Luke, excellent player. Will Connors is a very decent player. There are lots of others even in the current Ireland squad you havent mentioned and some players that cant make the squad or injured. Munster were missing all their internationals, they had about 4 or 5 academy players playing and had never fielded that team before. They are also bottom of the URC, 😂. You definitely arent going to win that argument.
