Russel Martin is a great manager. Everything he says seems very genuine and he takes and says no bs. He gives us information that he knows and believes us necessary for us to know
Nathen Jones did the same 😂 A great manager has a system that allows you to attack and defend in equal measure, as well as be a good communicator. I am yet to see a defensive counter press that protects the team from counter attacks. We look vulnerable in every single game we play. We will score - hopefully - but I don’t know if we will keep the ball from going in our net too often. I like Russel. He sounds like a decent fella and he talks a good game. I don’t know if his tactical acumen is of the highest standard though and I don’t see innovation in his game. It’s a rehash of Pep’s side 3 / 4 years ago. If you have the best squad you will win more than you lose, regardless of the manager. We need to look good in both sides of the game. Then I can start jumping on the bandwagon with the “Martin is a great manager” slogan! 😂
@@DanFernandesBenficaSaint I'm not talking about the system I'm talking about press conferences. Jones was an arrogant so and so who always deflected blame and changed the subject
@chalky8087 They have to sell because of the relegation and because they spent around £150 million last season while only taking in about £4 million on transfers. They lose the guaranteed £100 million in revenue from the Prem, and while they do make 50-55% of that in parachute payments, it's still dangerous to spend like you're still in the Prem just because you think you'll get promoted. While they have generated almost £140 million in departures this summer, you have to factor in that a lot of those players were from clubs that had sell-on clauses. Man City slapped on a 20% clause on Lavia, so they lost £11.6 million right there.
Why does this channel not post its defeats? You got battered yesterday because your clueless manager can’t and won’t adapt, all I will say is expect many many more days like that while Martin is in control
After hearing that there was interest in him from clubs in the Prem, he is pushing for a move away, and there are reports Everton is meeting his £30 million release clause.
Keep Che, sign Ross, call it a day. You've made the money back lost last season, set yourself up in the Prem next year and sell Che for better then. Saints looking really well already so early this season.
Adam Blackmore asks the lamest questions. There never questions; they’re statements that RM agrees with so Blackmore looks clever. He bloody waffles as well. Now this other guy is equally as bad. I miss Jacob. The only decent reporter now is Alfie.
What sort of questions do you think he should have asked? RM has basically summarised everything in his first answer re transfers - so he has to ask about Jack, Sunderland and Captains 🤷🏼♂️
Don’t be silly. We got 5 strikers now. Plenty of CM’s. Plenty of Wingers. We’ll be fine. I wish we had a new keeper but I’m happy we signed a CB and a ST yesterday
