Barry, you may want to correct yourself here. The preceding show (#195; June 20, 1984), was the first episode with the 2nd set of patterns that moved slower, and the first one with Tammy Whammette.
I just watched this over again today and noticed at the end Cynthia gave up her only opportunity to still win when she passed her spin to Cameron. It was like she gave up but wanted Brad to have a chance. How odd
I lay some of the blame on Peter here; when she asked who it'd be passed to, it seemed like he was assuming that her passing was a given. Instead of re-clarifying her situation, he assumed she was passing right there and let it go. Cameron probably wins either way though; only a shocking Whammy a la Nancy (Jennie Jones's win) or Jim Hess would have stopped him.
