John Harlan announced from #258 to #268, BTW. Besides the stuff you mentioned, here are some other things in #258: Back at Studio 33 (Bob Barker Studio), again. They move back to 43, again, in #269. Five new montages debut; the next four in eps. #259-#262. A new generation of Whammies debut (Weight-Lifter, Pizzaman, Vocalist Group, Umpire. Three more debut in the next episode). Prize music pitched down during John Harlan's tenure; first heard in #259. I requested this episode.
@ 15:04 - This marks the debut in this episode (of the brand new season) in which the Whammy (who was dressed up in an umpire outfit) says, "You're Out!," for the very 1st time.
The introduction of the 2000 or lose a whammy space! Would have been cool if they invited some contestants who whammied out in the first season back after that space was added.
Continued from previous post... The Boxer Whammy from the year before makes a return. And last but not least, the chairs the contestants sit in have been given a new paint job. Now they are in red. They were originally white. I didn't notice this until now.
First episode with $2,000 or Lose 1 Whammy. Next board update comes 98 episodes later in episode 356 when mostly everything on the left side of the board gets rearranged, along with the $2,000 in 13 getting reduced to $1,500
If they ever did a Four-Whammy Whammy in a nation where soccer was popular, they'd probably show the Whammy holding up a 'Red Card" and "sending off" the contestant. "RED CARD, OFF!"
