Don't really see much Orkel balers anywhere outside of Norway. I wonder if they have designed them from the ground up or whether the baler part is outsourced from another manufacturer. Bales look good!

Reviving a dead comment but i had to :p. Theire not big outside of Norway no although since their first combi units were made with wrappers from Finnish Agronic theres some all green Agronic balers thats Orkel underneath. From the 1250 combi, 1260 combi and if im not mistaken the first few years of the HiQ models too. And yes these are all developed in house, tested, proven and such for typical conditions over here. And they have been making balers since mid 80s if im not mistaken and their also market leader in Compactor style balers, more than 2 decades since first one rolled out of factory. Ive personally run HiQ balers since their launch more than 14y ago. Wanna point out the possibility for massive 710 wheels, low gross weight, good weight transfer to hitch, reliable bale transfer in hilly conditions (and easy to correct if bale gets sideways), additive pump is integrated to the baler monitor and is easy to use. All in all this is a good baler for wet, hilly or other conditions are abit more difficult. It handles heavy and wet crops great and aswell as straw and hay, it makes good bales. For a fixed chamber baler atleast, shes no speed baler but overall makes heavier bales meaning less logisitics afterwards. i dont remember exaclty when but CNH bought up Orkel's rights for the balers so Orkel doesnt make balers like these anymore themself, only the compactors. CNH wanted to offer a full grass lineup and they didnt really have a fixed chamber model out there. Production is moved and the ones you get today is the 1270 and the combi variant. Theres a model name for the same baler in NH yellow and one for the Case red but theire all 3 the same.

@@SlyFoxl Hey, thanks for the insight. Very interesting. Incidentally, I'm from Finland and looked at getting a used Agronic combi at one point, and it had an Orkel type plate, so you are indeed correct about the baler part being Orkel underneath. We have hilly and difficult terrain here, too (though not quite as hilly as you have it there in Norway!). I ended up getting a Krone VarioPack with a tandem axle and a standalone wrapper for our baling needs. I wish you all the best, Nordic neighbour!
