Thanks for this video! It’s been the most important one in my tobacco noodle press journey! I’ve pressed about 15 times and it’s turned out great every time! Just repackaged some plugged tobacco I stored in vacuum sealed bags for about a month into mason jars and can’t wait to try em out! Again, Thanks!!! 🙏🏾 😊

Sorry, I mean pressed tobacco…not plug because I know it’s a bit different

Well, vacuum sealed a bags are a perfect choice for long storage as well, and will keep all air from getting to the pucks of tobacco until you are ready to smoke them. Just remember that there is some air inside the jars.

Sorry, but what am I missing here..? You take Old Dark Fire, press it into a cake, then rub it out into it's orginal cut, and smoke it. Forgive me for asking, "but why did we press it..?" I will agree, your video and method is awesome.

Normally I would be pressing a couple different tobaccos together creating a new blend. This was done for long term storage purposes. Compresses large amounts of tobacco into smaller pucks allowing it to be stored easily in jars, using less space.

It also melds the flavors of different tobaccos together and kinda speeds up the aging.👍@@2ampipeonthepatio

I tried this and it works great. I blended several ribbon cut tobaccos and came out with my own unique crumble kake

I do like the idea of using parchment paper as a wrapping. May your pipe be full, your Matches dry and your cigars sweet.

KiltedPiperSteve referred me to your video 👍 I did the same thing except for I placed the same paper in a circle in the bottom and I didn't have the paper on the top which I will change. Mine was less so I called it a Discus 😂. Mine ended up about 52 hours and I feel like that's not bad. Thank you brother! That press is awesome!!

Awesome! I love doing the pressings! It’s great for storing tobacco too! I pressed a pound of 1Q into pucks and left them wrapped I’m going to unwrap a puck soon, it’s almost been two years. I want to see how it held up being an aromatic.

Thanks again for the tips! I’m wondering if the burningcaracteristics change? My darkfired blend from Germany burns a bit faster and hotter. Today I should have received the press, so on Monday there is an answer already! Have you tried spraying distilled water before pressing?? Will it get messy?
@2ampipeonthepatio
@2ampipeonthepatio 4 года назад
Emiel Smalbil I have never added moisture to my pressings, I order fresh tobaccos for pressing so they are usually very moist and press well. As for burning characteristics, I don’t rub out my pressings very much I cut of the piece I want and will break it by hand so I leave it kind of chunky, I find it burns slower like a folded flake that way. It burns cooler and slower for me, now if I rubbed it out completely to a fine ribbon it may burn faster as a lot of the moisture within the tobacco itself has been released into the tobacco pressing. I’m just guessing.

2:00 am Pipe On The Patio goodmorning. I pressed 35 grams for 48 hrs and kept the puck in a container for 36 hrs to let it expand a bit like you told. Just about to finish my bowl wich I didn’t break up to much like you mentioned. The tobacco felt a little more moist actually and what I can tell is that the flavors definitely melted together more and it burnes a little cooler and instead of 1 hr it lasted me well over an hr already. Maybe because there is just a little more tobacco in the bowl?I for some reason lost a bit of spice on the retrohale. I will let 35 grams dry out just a bit and add some spiced rum and let that rehydrate and press it the same way. Really like the outcome! Take care my yt friend an thanks for the new vid on Balkan flake! I’ll order that one since I wasn’t to sure about it
