I've been an investor in Tesla because I strongly believe in the company. I've always believed in the stock, but now I don't know whether to re-distribute my $70k portfolio and put some money in Nvidia. Very optimistic for H2. What do you think?
Long-term potential for both stocks is high; what matters most is the ratio of the dividend depending on each company's financials; there are plenty of other well-performing firms out there; you could always get advice from a financial expert.
I agree. A financial advisor really does help me do the distribution even between different asset classes. I don't even understand technical financial terms much. I just know I make really good profit, and I don't have to stress myself a lot.
I continue to be confused by the market. Obviously, the dip in Q1 was due to circumstances beyond their control and that Q2 would rebound due to in-process deliveries. Well the stock tanked on the former and spiked on the latter. Then the quarterly call literally said everything they always say with few new points that are within limit of what they are allowed to say on these calls. Stock tanks. I'll just continue to follow the news but otherwise sleep on the stock price until the market wakes up to reality. FSD and Optimus is on the cusp. Unfortunately, I'm not in the position to increase my position but if that changes I will be buying.
With respect to the FSD miles, at the start of the quarter they were pushing free 30 day trial which no doubt added mileage as people were trying it out. Not necessarily concerning that subsequent months weren’t as high in terms of added mileage.

Let's be honest here, Musk said he would have full self driving ready in 2016. In 2020 he said they were 99% there. Now it's still a few years out. It's all over-promise, never deliver.
A share of Tesla without the 2 stock splits would be worth $2200. The company continues to grow and inovate. Anyone doubting the future of Tesla is silly. Remember - pecemists sound smart. Optimists make money.

FSD cannot and will not be solved without some level of AGI. Either way, FSD must have the inherent ability to self-learn and make decisions cognitively. No point in chasing down edge case after edge case which by their very nature are infinite.
Making and selling cars to Tesla is like one man's daily job, 9 to 5 thing that provides bread and butter, wall street gauges how you behave on those daily jobs. FSD, robotaxi and Optimus is more like a garage job as of now, they are cool and impactful, but very hard and costly at this stage
You need to stop saying "autonomous". The Tesla system isn't. You wouldn't call GM SuperCruise autonomous. SAE J3016 Level 2. Not Autonomous.. FSD miles has zero correlation with progress too. This system have been "autonomous in 6-12 months" since 2019, and I expect it to remain that for the remainder of this decade,
semi truck and cyber truck were hype and now bust. Robi taxi plus 3 years away. Robots are cool but more hype. Need New Revenue and Cashflow. No regulation approval for FSD. Price to Sales 9 times and PE 63 too high, Eps 4 times 40 = 160. Sell and revisit. Just remember without tech this is a car company. GM and F Pes are Single digit. Wall street will only wait so long

Right, so, basically, what Gene is saying is that if the earnings were good this quarter it would 100% totally be about the here and now. But they're a dumpster fire, so don't look at them. Look at that bird in the trees 1000 miles away. Second, "unboxed" is a total sham. Third, unsupervised autonomous driving is many years if not decades away. Elon does not get to decide what is "solved," and if its safe to deploy to public roads. There is no imminent product release here. Not the software, not robotaxis.
