Learn how to change the oil in your pressure washer pump.
This is a cat pump that puts out 4 gallons per minute (gpm) at 4000 pounds per square inch (psi). When you first use this pump the oil needs to be changed in it after 50 hours of use. After that, the oil needs to be changed every 500 hours of use ONLY IF you are using the cat pump oil. If you are using a substitute the oil needs to be changed every 300 hours. If you use a substitute you still need to use an oil with the same specifications as the cat pump oil.
The specifications are:
ISO - 68, 30W, NON-Detergent, Hydraulic Pump Oil. Stick with these specifications on the cat pump. Please see your owners manual as your pump model may be different than mine.
First unscrew the oil drain nut at the bottom, as well as the oil fill nut at the top. Let the oil drain completely. Tilting may be necessary. Once completely drained, check seals and put the oil drain nut back on and secure it.
Next, take your oil and fill it to the required amount. See your owners manual. After filled, check your seals and secure the oil fill nut back on. Now your pump oil is changed. Thanks for watching.

Manual recommends to run engine for 5 minutes then change the oil. Cat pump oil - Iso 68 a quart is sold at Home Depot about 10 bucks

If the top cap is removed before the bottom cap is removed the oil will drain better. i dont know how to explain the physics involved but trust me it works.

Hey if you pour oil the other way you will have a ton more control and won’t need the funnel. Especially since you can get close

Had a lot of problems with this style cat pump, something all the time wrong, unloader stop unloading, back and forth to shop, so I junked it and got a ar viper and I’ve washed the world with it

looks like you have the same honda motor as I do. It has 2 oil drains and 2 oil fill/dipsticks on both sides. are they different? or is it the same oil? any info would be apretiated

It could be your seals. A lot of times if you simply replace an o ring it'll do the job. Where is the leak?

i have a silly question i bought a dewalt 3400psi at a department store after aprox 100hrs (6 months aprox) the pump malfunction so i bought an 4ppx30gsi CAT and some times when cold starting it missfires and the water pressure drops to non pressure at all after a few seconds it gains pressure and keeps hapening for a couple of times and it has been doing it since i bought the new CAT pressure pump 4ppx30gsi only thing i have noticed is that when i turn it on the oil on the pump seems to drop way below the red dot mark any suggestions? (repairshop told me that its a water pressure issue on my house so i did check pressure and its about 5.1 gallons per minute) thanks happy holy Friday

+Fabian Ayala The first think I thought about is that it's the water on your house as well. If your house is hooked to a well, that would be what the problem is. I've had it with the garden house pumping 5gpm but then put it on my pressure washer and it cut in and out. The well water situation is funny. That may be the case with you'res. Otherwise I'd try to see if there's a warranty or else, just but a new pressure washer.

I change my pump oil in my cat pump with cat oil every time I change the oil in the motor there is no way in hell I'm leaving that go for 500 hrs not even 20 hrs .. oil is cheep compared to a new pump.
