Arguably the last game between these two clubs as NSL powers. Preston began their fall the following year.

I think they won the Dockerty Cup the following season? But yes, they were soon on the decline as an NSL force.

They had that big win in Adelaide the following season, but it was decline time all the same.

Yes they were. There was a move in the 80's by Soccer Australia to re-name the clubs with dumb nicknames like Sydney City Slickers etc. They chose Rams for Preston. Safe to say they never caught on Haha

@@sayermare tried in the 90a like it was a new concept. South decided to change their name to lakers until a sporting club from Las Angeles demanded they change it.
