I took my new Superium X Carp out on Sunday to my 1st match of the year. I was in very good company and surrounded by anglers that had all purchased new carbon. I was lucky to have the chance on box with both the new X90 and the Z9-3. What I will say is when looking down the match length/side on view the X90 didn’t show such a bend as the camera seems to show in your review video. Now having held both @14.5m the Z9-3 did feel better balanced but with elastics in side-on views both of these top-end poles looked and felt stiff when F1 fishing with CAD pots. A shop environment is certainly very different from an open commercial snake lake so I would recommend people try these new poles outside if possible. I’m even more shocked that these 2.5-3k poles are now seen as mid-range being the high-end poles are now 4K+. I’d have a heart attack breaking a no.6 on one of these 4K poles …..
So happy I watched this I was going to buy one. Note to self don't believe Preston sponsored anglers, sad that even Andy May was saying it was brilliant, he says 16m is like fishing 13m 🙄 these sponsored anglers will tell you anything. Thanks for taking the time to do these videos. Fact is they will never produce poles as good as diawa. I will now be buying a diawa or browning to save myself the disappointment. Why would you want to spend 3k on a pole that's crap at 16m?
Great honest review Ben showing it realistically ,at 3000 seems a lot to pay for a pole that praps doesn't have the full potential, keep up the good work👍
Great unbiased review Ben. Having watched your recent review of X70, I would find it hard to justify spending £3k for X90. Albeit extra top kits , but top 3 kits would not still justify spending extra £1,150 thats like saving the cost of a extra pole , like MTX3.as example of cost saving.
Big fan of your reviews Ben but to be honest (just my opinion), I think your reviews of the Superium poles were a bit rushed (except X30), with time wasted being repeatative on each video with the top kits and holdalls and some models were not tested at their full lengths for us all to see (more time here would have been better). The X90 is a phenomenal pole in it's price range yet you kept comparing it to £5500 poles 🤷♂️ rather than equally priced poles......Sorry mate but keep up the good work on your channel 👍.
Agree on time I'm very limited with work. I did film all at length but cause I film on my own the camera focused on me not the pole so you could see it so i didn't put it in. x90 is a good pole for the money, As I said throughout the film I said it cant be compared to a 5k pole as its not. Personally I think my xz65 middy pole blows it away at £2200 but that's my opinion.
brilliant honest review which, to be honest didnt throw up any surprises for me. To pay 3k for 16mtrs and struggle to hold is is a non starter. Cadence CP2000 would beat that pole hands down for under 2k although the Cadence CP2000 is not really for large Carp. Their CP1000 though is perfect for commercials and still better that the new Preston at half the price
Looks very impressive at 13m & 14.5m. Have a feeling with a short no.3 it would also be better at 15.5m. Putting a short no.3 on my X Carp has really improved it at 14.5/14m. Another great review. Subscribe as a huge amount of effort goes into filming these so show some support for the channel!!!
Great reveiw aside from all the advertising hype it's a banana at 16 meters great package shame about the pole the matrix mx3 looks stiffer and as you say it's not a patch on the middy
Another great and honest review Ben, to me it looks like a very expensive carp pole with some match kits thrown in to try and fool people otherwise, it was like a banana at 16 metres, imagine a bit of wind and it would probably be almost impossible to use at even at 14.5m , I'm sure they will sell load's to tackle tarts and others sucked in by their excellent sales techniques
How much worse do you think x90 is for silverfish fishing compared to the best trabucco set GNT ULTRA XTR COMPETITION at 13m? I need a fast lightweight set for match fishing but I already have a lot of whales and a preston pole.
Brilliant revue Ben honest as always I must say I ain't impressed m8 there's better poles for the money.i wish people would take a moment to sit and think what length pole they really need. unless your match fishing you don't need to fish at that distance cadence have got it spot on buy the poles at 13 MTRS then if you need extra sections it's up to you not the tackle companies.its your brain and watercraft that catches fish not 3 grand poles every pole is sloppy at 16 MTRS don't matter how much you pay by taking a couple of sections off you've got a stiff ,light , manageable pole that you can fish with all day with out the bad back
