Loved the ending! I find the people who don’t like it is because they didn’t see it coming but the hints were in the daughters behavior (overly sympathetic to the father, all those long hugs, the most interested in asking him details of the trial etc) the audience simply dismissed it as maybe typical for a sensitive daughter. They Presumed Innocence! We associated everyone else’s behavior as suspicious but really they were either just being curious, emotional, dismissive etc. But we are often more judgmental of those behaviors rather than the quiet, sweet, seemingly uninvolved. History have shown those types to often be the guilty ones. How many times have we heard about a killer ‘ he/she was always so quiet, so sweet/nice, you’d never think they would do that’? Also the Sabich son was not there the night of the murder. He rode by on his bike a month before.

Not since season 3 of Succession with Kendall Roy and his attorney Lisa Arthur (Sanaa Lathan) have we seen such a hilarious dynamic of a lawyer angrily befuddled by their impossibly incompetent client with Rusty and Mya (Gabby Beans)

A different show would have the original trial (with the first woman tied up) had an innocent man goto jail for a crime he didn’t commit. And that same murderer now setting him up. And then that would be the cliffhanger for season 2.

I mostly agree with Patrick and enjoy the finale, but I disagree with the thought that there's no value in a second viewing. Knowing the ending completely changes how I view some earlier scenes in the show. I hated the final scene of the family cooking dinner together until David gave his thoughts on the scene and compartmentalization. His comments really changed my enjoyment of the final scene. Also I had to rewind and listen a few times because I was laughing so hard at the conversation about different takeaways between Patrick and David on compartmentalization.

I have to say I thought Jake Gyllenhaal was completely miscast in the lead. I don't know if it's because he looks younger than his age or even something trivial like his voice, but he really lacked the gravitas that Harrison Ford conveyed in the original. I also thought that Ruth Negga's character and performance was all wrong, until the ending which is a twist on the original. All in all, it was entertaining, but Gyllenhaal was the weakest link so I'd advise for those that haven't already to check out the original film. Harrison Ford was amazing as Rusty.

O-T Fagbenle is so bad and so inconsistent in his affectations he ruins every single scene he is in.

Loved the show but the reveal at the end I found to be pretty silly
