We live in the province of Luzon, over 10 years full time and we still have to deal with neighbors and family.

I agree, it's not JUST a housewife, it's as important as going out and working. What do you do after a long hard day of work, YOU GO HOME, she's the one making the home a sanctuary to relax. If she is providing peace and happiness to him at home, he will want to help her out in the house to give her time off to relax as well. It's his job to provide for her and taking things off her plate is providing her time. I enjoy cooking and would tell her to go relax, watch a movie, do something else while I cook tonight, and I'm a neat freak and clean up after myself right after I make a mess. She brought up a good point, it's important for her to SPEAK UP and tell him what she wants, tampo will not solve a problem that ONLY exists inside HER HEAD, he's not a mind reader. One little tip, always start with the bad things 1st, that way you end on a good note, and the last thing on people's mind will be the last thing talked about, if you end with the good things then the take away will be the positive. The one thing I disagree with is a child supporting their parents, they are NOT indebted to their parents for giving them life. The parents chose to create the child and in doing so they chose to SUPPORT THEIR CHILD. I know it's a cultural thing, but when in a relationship with a foreigner, it is no longer HER CULTURE, it is BOTH of their cultures, and BOTH need to adapt and change to meet each others cultures. Me personally, I am financially responsible for myself, my LIVE IN girlfriend/wife, and OUR child/ren (Should we have any), NO ONE ELSE, anything beyond that is me being kind. I didn't work most of my life to pay for some other ADULT'S early retirement so they can be lazy because they think they hit the lottery. A relationship can be just as easily destroyed by her family/friends greed as it can by her actions and behavior. She will HAVE TO MANAGE EXPECTATIONS of her family/friends, just because the foreigner has money, does NOT mean they do. If the Filipina lives with me, I am already supporting her family, although actual money may not exchange hands, I am the one providing for their daughter's needs, and that is money her family isn't spending on her and now have to use for their own needs. If they aren't financially responsible with their money, that is THEIR problem that they need to fix. If the money they have doesn't support the lifestyle they want, then they need to change their lifestyle to fit the money they have. You always hear Filipino's are big on family, but once married, her duties and responsibilities lie with HER HUSBAND, NOT her family (1 Peter 3:1 "Likewise, WIVES, be subject to YOUR OWN HUSBANDS." This is repeated in Ephesians 5:22-33 and 1 Corinthians 11:3).

I also think that she should have finished college. An education should never be abandoned. Why can't you be a spouse and student 😢😢😢 Knowledge is power👠💪

Im married to a Filipina, and I'm American, 15 yrs. and the term "Rich", is the biggest misunderstanding that we get labeled with. Because people compare what they have in life to the foreigner. Unfortunately, the Philippines isn't material rich. However, they are rich in so many other ways.

What a wonderful young bride. A suggestion for you Chacha, do a mic test before you start recording. Her mic was so far down on her top that she was hard to hear sometimes. She has a soft voice to start with so the mic location defeated her.

Her husband needs to give his wife a budget to get what she needs and for God sakes give out chocolate to her family and friends. We she said I got nothing I said wtf. I'm married to my Filipina wife for 10 yrs with 2 beautiful children and she handles all finances I earn the money and she spends it. Lol but that's her role as a wife/mother that she pays the tuition for the kids. Mortgage, groceries and my role as husband/father is to provide and protect. It works perfectly. I would never find such a great dynamic in a western women from the USA. I'm blessed and couldn't be more happy.

What is a compound? I am not sure I have heard of that before. My fiance is from the province and the people in the bukid all say that I am rich, they say it to my face. I think people in the city also have the same thoughts. Also the pasalubong, I think province and city people want it. When coming from the USA, all the chocolate that you have to bring adds a lot of weight to your luggage. There are soooo many people that expect it. Then I find out that you can get all the same chocolate at a store in the Philippines . LOL. Can just buy it when you get there. Lastly the chismus is everywhere there, however in a small town when they do not see many foreigners it happens more.

There is always someone who is going to try and pull you down I am from the USA and when I go out shopping I get the same thing WOW you must be rich I tell them No I had to work for everything I have same as you I never try to act like I am better than anyone else because I am not But some people will always act like that . All you can do is be yourself and they can accept it or not it's there choice

My wife and I always sent chocolates to the Philippines especially after Halloween because they were cheaper to buy at that time. She would buy chocolates that you can not buy there. If we plan a trip to the Philippines we would buy more chocolates and bring old clothing. Nothing goes to waste.

She should have finished her college education. If something happens to her husband she's going to be a working student again or be broke the rest of her life. Of course she could remarry.

So its mostly the same for the filipina.. Not only for a foreigner.. Because of that reaction, I decided not to start dating and just enjoying my life here. Maybe I find someone who is okay to life a simple life without any worries - as long as it stays a simple life. Most still all think foreigners are all millionaires with unlimited money. Which is not the case. But most can get along to the end of their life, if they find someone who is okay with a simple lifestyle. The first time I would start to spend a lot of money would be when I have a child - not on handbags and shoes and stuff

the mindset is that now she is married to an american 🇺🇸 she has an unending amount of money. The truth is living in america 🇺🇸 is much higher than the philippines 🇵🇭. So if he is stilling living here and supporting her there that makes the cost of living even higher. The lack of planning by prior generations is a drain on the next generation. The mindset that children are indebted to their parents is nothing more than indentured slavery. Creates generational poverty. Poverty will continue in the philippines 🇵🇭 until those who are the younger generations will not allow the drain on their resources and be a life time atm.

I told my right girl up front I am poor or low income not rich by any means so there was expectation. She was province girl that was okay with simple life. Her parents never ask for money. But I wouldn't mind helping parents or grandparents but I wouldn't help every family member so brother, sisters aunt and uncles or cousins sorry but it is a no not our responsibility.
