Lena Bruening well first of all, in general, guys are the providers (I am NOT saying women shouldn’t have jobs or anything like that, so don’t take it the wrong way). So the thing is, a lot of women DO marry guys just for the money, that’s why gold diggers are typically women, it’s in their nature to find a successful mate that will provide for them in the long run. While men, knowing that they should be the providers (which make them feel more masculine) try to be the successful ones. It’s just how nature works.

Julian Ramos it’s not. Most of the time people assume so because of their own insecurities or because they had a bad experience with another attractive person. There is a great amount of attractive women who were raised better than that. I don’t want to call my self conceited but I am confident. Someone told me before meeting me that they thought I was “one of those mean stuck up pretty girls” because I always have a bitch face, I was really glad to hear them say I’m the complete opposite because truthfully I can’t imagine being such a horrible person. Though i agree with what your saying, most skinny attractive men aren't all that in the personality department. women are very picky with what they want. a lot of men they would find attractive personality wise are usually ugly by their standards or overweight. yet they want best of both worlds. most attractive men don't need to have much personality because usually they don't need to impress the lady much since their looks do that for them. believing your pretty is an opinion of yourself. other people might not have the same opinions as you. now, it's up to you to see how much you value someone's opinion about the way they see as what's pretty. it's hard for most people to grasp that design.

It does make you shallow if your standards are shallow. Why wouldn't one date a guy who flips burguers? As long as he respects you and treats you good that's fine. Instead they'll date a guy just because he's famous? It's all about ego, liking to feel like you're dating someone cool instead of dating someone's who's a actual decent match for you, and that's shallowness.

How can one of the “facts” on the side be about preference (“men prefer women with younger looking faces”) but the women are shallow for not wanting a partner who’s overweight? That’s a preference as well, and even more so it’s, most of the time, something that can be worked on and changed. A face/aging cannot be changed (naturally) or undone

the standards were more or less material expectations for example the job rather then being focused on character if the questions involved would you date a burger flipper who had the right character traits you loved would be a more accurate question tbh but having material standards is a big put off for many guys

vic ferg no they just have preference, like with the overweight some people don’t find them attractive. Some times they can be shallow but everyone can be. Having style and preferences are not related to being shallow, neither is have standards. The guy was honestly not helping. Again some answers were shallow but everyone can be shallow.
