If you buy a Pretty Housemaid Victorian corset from me, here's how to measure yourself for that! C:
Commission a corset at clockworkfaerie.etsy.com.

Measurements list:
1)Bust circumference--around the fullest part of the bust, tape straight across the back.
1a) Front bust: from side seam to side seam, only on the front of the bust, straight over the fullest part.
1b) apex to apex: basically nipple to nipple :) sometimes its a bit wider. We want it about where a princess seam would sit.
2) Waist circumference (natural). Measure around the natural waist, where you tied the ribbon.
2a) Reduced waist: Suck it in and pull the tape tight! Alternatively, I can start with a 2" reduction from the natural waist measurement. 2-4" is usual, can be 4-8" if you are plus-sized.
3) High hip circumference: measure around the body at the hip bone protrusion on the side, usually 2-4" below the natural waist.
4) Low hip circumference: Measure around the body about 7" below the waist ribbon. This is the lower edge of the corset, it likely won't reach all the way to your bottom/thigh where the hip measurement is usually taken.
5) Bust to Waist: Measure along the side of your ribcage, from waist ribbon up to the level where you took the bust measurement. It's usually 3 or 4 inches below the underarm crease.
6) Lap: While sitting on a hard chair or bench or other flat surface, measure from waist ribbon down to the top of your thigh, at a side-front position (where the thigh is highest). This measurement makes sure your corset won't cut into your leg when you sit in it!
(not shown:)
7) Bra size (34DD US sizing, for example)
8) Height (5'10" or 177cm, for example)

How do you know what size spoon busk you need or this specific corset please?

Hi! I measure the edge where it will go, leaving 1/4” at top and bottom edges for the binding. I actually don’t use modern spoon busks because 1)they come in such limited lengths and 2) because they’re far heavier, stiffer, and wider than the antique ones I’ve seen. I feel I get a better effect just using a standard busk and bending it in at the bottom half.
