I was an alcoholic from about 1971 to 1982, drank every day, got drunk every day, I was miserable and just did not give 2 shits about anything. I was out on my usual route and I got a second wind and went to a place farther out in the middle of nowhere than I had traveled to before, it was a Monday, nobody stays out past about 10 on Monday, and there are only a few of the hardcore drunkards out at any time that night. Here I am about 11:30 stinking drunk, fall into this concrete block building in bf egypt and it's empty, except for an old grubby guy about 65 behind the bar with no teeth and filty hands . He says I am getting ready to close. I said np , can I have a beer and a shot while you stock up. He says ok, He gives me the dirtiest glass Ive ever seen and I do the shot and start to drink the beer. It was at that moment my eyes landed on a purplish pink pickle that was in 2 pieces in some liquid in a dusty jar on a shelf. I kept eyeing it and he catches me. I said , how longs that thing been in there, he says I been here 5 years, it was here when I came. I said how much is it, he says ,I wouldn't eat that if I was you, I have no idea how old it is , it could be 20 years or more, they don't throw nothin away in here. I said I'll give you 50 cents for it and then you never have to look at it again. He says if you eat it all , you can have it for free. I just wish there was a crowd here to watch you. I ate that purple pink pickled egg and drove home, the next morning I woke up and everything was fine, I thought that's amazing, 2 days later I went to the bathroom at work and for a few hours after, every time someone went in there, you could hear them gagging and they would come back out and head for another one. Wanting to know who died in there
